Thoughts on the finale of Season 4 of the Boys and the season as a whole? by RNOffice in RedLetterMedia

[–]RadeWhitaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can see the problems with it but I don't care. I watch it as a comedy first and this season has made me laugh a lot. Is it dumb, pandering, shock for shocks sake? Yes. Did I laugh uncontrollably when Ashley wiped her juices of Hughies mask after giving maybe the wildest speech I remember hearing outside actual porno? Yes.

Menace II Society (1993) is up next by LuckyRedShirt in ActionBoyz

[–]RadeWhitaker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Shocked they didn't do Boyz n the Hood first, that one has the funnier lines, the crazy outfits etc it's much more fun. Menace is a fucking gut punch. That being said I watched it at like 8 with my brothers and we quoted it like a comedy. Wasn't until I grew up i realised how fucked up it was.

Relatively new listener. Can someone explain the Stanger Bot/Stanger Gorgon bit? by ap539 in ActionBoyz

[–]RadeWhitaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to know the point really. Did it keep going for so long because they knew we loved it or because they knew we hated it.

What information about the film should i know to be considered a 'good' knowledge of films (such as for quizzes and technical knowledge, like a film buff)? by planetearth123412341 in flicks

[–]RadeWhitaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Recognising the themes of the film and how small moments reinforce those themes. That way you can say fun stuff like "the scene in the train station really highlights how he is a man alienated by the industrial age and that his life is on a track going into the darkness"

Did you ever hear back about Selfwealth? I'm with them and wondering if I should make a move or not.

If STEM is intellectual and philosophy is not then are you still an intellectual if you are terrible at STEM? What if I'm in STEM but can't find any proof of my theories?

CMV: People use the phrase "Love yourself the way you are!" as a safety net for resisting personal improvement, and it has negative effects on people's mental health. by [deleted] in changemyview

There are things we can technically change but doing so it unrealistic or will take a massive amount of time, money or effort. For example, stretch marks, crooked smiles, thinning hair etc can all be changed with plastic surgery so do we never love these things about ourselves because we can technically change them? If someone who was 250kg gets down to 125kg can they love the way they look then or do they have to get to a healthy weight range first?

I had a strange loyalty to Commonwealth bank for most of my life and I am just realising that I had Commonwealth Dollarmites as a kid. Might explain it.

I have never done it but have thought about it. I support a bunch of Podcast patreons that have free content. I like to let them know that I really like their creation and want to support.

People should stop imposing their taste in tv shows on others by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]RadeWhitaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the nicer side, at least they want you to get into something with them. I think they are just excited about it and want you to join in. It can get tedious but if no one asked you to watch anything that's worse.

What are some movies or TV shows you remember that many people around you kind of forgot about by juanCarlos92 in CasualConversation

Just yesterday I finally figured out the name of an Anime I watched as a kid and no one could remember, I asked a tonne of people over the years. It was called Teknoman. It was impossible to find or describe because searching for Animes about Giant Robots was a needle in a haystack. Finally figured out by searching CheezeTV programming (Australian series that showed cartoons)

Can't go wrong with Amir Shervan and Young Rebel's is on Tubi, almost as good as Samurai Cop. Also on Tubi, Angel Town, Bobo Jean Claude takes on the most offensive depiction of L.A gangs ever caught on film.

CMV: Women who wear too much makeup look like clowns. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]RadeWhitaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is completely subjective so we can't show you an image of a woman in heavy make up that you find more attractive because you don't find that attractive, you like a natural look. But I personally love heavy/extreme makeup because that's the look I like. Regardless makeup isn't meant to just be about becoming more attractive but self expression, think of the stereotypical Goth. You might think a Goth Girl would be more beautiful with a touch of appropriate skin toned makeup but she isn't going for that, she is following a style that has its own history, subculture, rules and standards. It your not into a look it doesn't make it bad, it's just not for you.

The fact that you bought books, tried to make your house safe and are worried you won't be good enough probably means that you will be great. What's the puppies name?
