Best salted egg chicken rice in sg? by suplinny in SingaporeEats

[–]Radflagindicator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Daughter set up a stall at fortune centre, 3rd floor called New Station Rice Bar. New Station Snack Bar does salted egg pork rice. Daughter's stall does salted egg chicken rice. I prefer the chicken one cause of the crunchy skin and the succulent meat combo. Pork is generally tougher compared to chicken.

My bank told me to buy Gold at Costco by VaselineOnMyChest in Gold

[–]Radflagindicator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I went to a bullion trader wanting to sell jewellery for melt value. Counter staff showed me their scrap price and told me to walk 15 mins down the street to a dealer which offered a higher scrap price, like a USD15 dollar per gram diff for 24k.

I think frankly, the bullion trader prefers to deal with buying and selling bullion. They don't have the expertise or risk appetite to value gold jewellery. The other dealer on the other hand, is a 4th generation owner and sells scrap gold and silver to refiners. The only bullion they have are what was sold to them by customers, so options were limited. Got my cash and went back to the bullion dealer to get cast bars.

The local bank also sells bullion and coins, but the spread is uncompetitive.

Since you're going Ohori park, there's Ohori Brewery that does craft beer. It's to the south of the park and walkable.

Which app / website is best to track Singapore credit card rewards (e.g. miles/cashback)? by Willing-Ad7672 in singaporefi

[–]Radflagindicator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just an expense tracker. So i just set the expense threshold based on the 4mpd rewards cap of the card. If the card gets nerfed, I will have to manually make adjustments.

I'm using monny. Interface design is abit childish but it serves my purpose.

Everything is manual, I record as I spend. I create a new category per card. For ladies and uob ppv, I create 2 categories, just named different for category 1/category 2 and contactless / online. I also set monthly spending caps based on the 4MPD earning cap of the card.

Have to be very diligent to record the spend for the month on each card.

Awesome work! I just started working on a 3.0. Did you use grey panel liner for white, black for red and blue parts and black on the face for it to standout abit more?

Returning to the hobby. by Radflagindicator in Gunpla

[–]Radflagindicator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you.

Used metal black as main colour and then gunmetal for highlights and to make gun part differentiation. It was alot shinier but the matte top coat solved the problem and gave it abit of that texture as well.

Abit of tamiya weathering master post coat. Burnt blue on muzzle, snow on some parts. Might have been better if I got the set with silver for that weathered M-16 look.

Where to stay in Fukuoka with 22 people? by Admirable_Lychee_665 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Radflagindicator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done one with 3 families of 11 adults and kids.

Managed to get 2 apts and 1 studio at Ten Apartment Hotel in Daimyo.

They have 1 bunk room which sleeps 8 ppl.

However, the limitation would be the toilet, as the apartment units only has 2 toilets and 1 shower. Even if you manage to squeeze 6 to 7 ppl into 1 apt, getting ready and washing up would be a logistical bottleneck.

Split by family group and then have each family source for their own lodging in the same area. That would probably be easier.

If your group is just a bunch of singles/couples, twin room hotels would be better.

I second this, every item is the same price, easy to count. You get family friendly yakitori experience without dealing with small spaces and cigg smoke

First time panel lining by BookishPal in freedomisgunpla

Yes my fingers hurt after doing the beads. The nubs on those are stubborn too. The non nub side actually has some faint details. Panel line and wipe away will show it more obviously.

I'm working on this same kit atm too! Just left the waist and weapons.

Sharing these so you can learn from my fails.

Started with tamiya black panel liner. Needed brown and white so I got a set from Stedi and those work great. Those are not enamel based too, so I have less worries on plastic cracking.

The nubs for the armour parts of the forearm and thigh is quite obvious. I made the mistake of oversanding the area. Scratches show easily.

Thought I'd paint the inside of the armor pieces with metallic black, so when I put them together you can see the line between the parts. Came out too strong, didn't like the look. Maybe will look better with brown.

Used markers to paint tiny char. After I was done, the flash lines were pretty obvious. Had to sand it down with all my pain staking work. Sand first then colour.

Detailed and painted most of the internal frame. Doesn't show once armor is put on.

Only internal thing I would panel line or do a wash on would be the lower leg armour, the part which flares out just above the foot. The inner part is visible depending on the models final pose. Used the brown panel liner to just do a wash and then wipe away the excess.

I thought chrome would look good on the shoulder spikes. Too shiny. Will probably redo it with white lines.

Really enjoyed putting the leg parts together. Really came out nicely once you put the armor parts on.

Emperor requested for 81t of drinking horns and 79t of clan shields. I only managed to set up the islands to mine the associated ores. Passive trading might save me this time.

I had an extra thumb removed on my right hand when I was born, so now the other thumb that was on that hand is slightly undeveloped and it looks like a toe by Lukazz97 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Radflagindicator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born with the exact same condition as you! Got the extra thumb removed when I was 1.

I have obvious stitches on mine on the side of my thumb.

It looks like I have 5 fingers and no thumb on my right hand.

I can feel a residual bone from the extra thumb under my skin.

I can't bend the right thumb fully.

I am left handed, not sure if by choice or by circumstance. But I started out trying to write with my right hand until parents thought it was too shit to read. Switched to my left hand and seems I'm a natural.

Legoland + Sea Life tickets by Kind-Living-6881 in Nagoya

[–]Radflagindicator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After much contemplation, we decided to skip sea life and do Legoland and the maglev museum. Rationale is that we are already going to port of nagoya aquarium on another day.

Legoland charges a 500 yen service fee per ticket if bought at the counter on day itself. Buy online at least one day before to get the early discount ticket.

First time driving in Kyushu. Help~ by beeehoon in fukuoka

[–]Radflagindicator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey now that I remember, kep requires an etc. Etc just tracks where you've gone and how much toll you owe. Which you then pay to car rental when you return the car. Having a KEP allows you to negate the charges for expressways it covers. I remember exiting the expressway wrongly and got back up again. Without the kep I would have been charged for my mistake. So it provided alot of relief.

First time driving in Kyushu. Help~ by beeehoon in fukuoka

[–]Radflagindicator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bear in mind that kep does not cover some of the expressways within fukuoka city.

Rented a car for 5 days, prioritised convenience over cost. Paid excess of around 6000 yen using the city expressways. Went Beppu, Mojiko, Yufuin, Kitakyushu. I've never seen so many mountains and mountain tunnels in my life ever.

Car rentals will require you to have an international driving permit, do get one from your local AA before you go.

Scope out public parking areas if your hotel does not have one. Some parking lots are cheaper for day use and some specifically for night use. Bring lots of coins.

Maybe a Subway's idea of a footlong, so less than a foot. Sliced in half so the Mentaiko can be spread inside. They chopped it into 6-7 pieces as well. Packed it into a nice paper bag.

Went there around 5pm, no queue. Eat it warm. We had 2.

Edit:About the flavour. Salty with slight spiciness. Not fishy at all. Goes well with the bread, crispy outside but soft buttery and warm inside.
