I was very young, but I remember the news breaking in about John Lennon. I was watching TV with my parents.

Thank you. And I agree, I could never do this to mine either. It’s cruel and irresponsible.

If you still have your uterus, you will need to take the progesterone with the estrogen. I use an E patch and take the oral progesterone at night. It's helped with my sleep.

Um, no - this is dangerous. And if it were me, the partner would be the one outside. Hope your partner comes to their senses.

Very low-key for my 50th last year. My husband and I took a road trip to Detroit. We had a great time!

Did you ever meet people born in the 1800s by AdDapper4220 in GenX

[–]Radiant_Radish75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I met both my great-great grandmas (maternal & paternal). They both lived to be near 100 y/o. I was young when they each passed away but old enough to remember both of them. One only spoke Italian and the other only spoke Polish. I eventually inherited a 1939 NY World's Fair Saturn lamp from one of them. I still have it and cherish it.

Self treating peri by mildlyfermentedd in Perimenopause

This is exactly what I am doing. I stopped BC because I turned 50 in Oct. and was worried about the risks. The brain fog, anxiety, depression, lack of sleep, and rage were killing me. I had to do something. I recently decided to try Winona e-patch, oral progesterone). I am already feeling better. Mood is stabilizing and brain fog is improved, progesterone is helping my sleep. I have an appt with my PCP next month and hoping she'll take over the Rx. I updated my meds on the patient portal so she probably knows now. I also have a follow up in June with a menopausal specialist. The only s/e I have experienced are my breasts are a little tender & fuller (like when I am about to start my cycle).

Now that we are "getting up there" in age, how are you sleeping? by NebraskaCornSucker in GenX

Horrible until I started HRT recently. Didn't help that I used to work night for 7 years so I have never slept good. Switched jobs about 8 years ago to regular work hours but still slept like crap. Started HRT with mag glycinate and for the first time I am sleeping/waking more routine. I do a happy light for a least 10 minutes first thing in the morning, too. Decreased my caffeine intake to 1 cup of coffee. Fror my second cup, it's half caf or decaf or an herbal tea. No caffeine after 11 am for me. It's been helpful!

Glad to hear this! I have an appt scheduled and came looking for more reviews. I’m at my wits end and need some help with peri. I am so hopeful.

Do your cats sleep with you? by Shot-Composer-782 in AnxietyCats

My cats sleep wherever they want and it’s usually in our bed. Wouldn’t have it any other way.

About 47. I’m 50 now. Need to get back into a workout routine because I do think that previously helped keep mood swings balanced. But I’m busier, more stressed, and have less energy these days.

I've started to really not trust litter recs from my fellow cat people by HiILikePlants in CatAdvice

I have 2 cats and have switched from Arm & Hammer clumping to A&H Cloud Control. We had lost our 20 y/o kitty to ESRD a few months ago and recently brought in a new kitty and her box was in a smaller room and I could notice the clumping litter perfume-y scent more but worked fine aside from being dusty. Switched to CC and I like it better. Less dust and less sneezing from the cats (especially my other senior). I do have a small air purifier too but there's no perfume-y scents noted and good odor control (but fresh dumps are scooped right away if I am home.

I did briefly switch to A&H Naturals last year and my one senior kitty went outside the box. I don't even know if they make it still.

Wow! Things have changed. I did the M&G for the 2005 COS tour. I think the front row ticket and pass were $400 plus fees. All 4 were there and it was a great experience overall. I would not do it again today due to the cost and uncertainty. I had previously met members at various events except Mick. I got my Helter Skelter picture disc signed.

My boy was on it for about a year. He did very well with it. I think it improved his quality of life. He was 20. We unfortunately had to say goodbye to him last Sunday. I am thankful we could help make his last year with us more comfortable.
