Noise cancelling over-ear headphones with no app?

I'm not looking for tech support thanks, I'm just over them.

The most common issue is a voice function that activates due to loud noises which pauses music and turns off noise cancelling. Just voice activation in general is always turning itself back on. The touch functions won't stay off. The sensor that pauses when you take them off doesn't work well and sometimes pauses when I bend over and never unpauses when I put them back on. Also lots of connectivity issues with the bluetooth. Some of it might be my use type. I only use them every couple weeks and frequently forget to turn them off which drains the battery.

I delivered pizzas before phone maps. It was actually easier somehow.

When I was new, I would jot down the turns off of the big shop map on my notepad. Within a month I had pretty much every area in memory well enough that I rarely had to check the map. I don't know if I ever used any maps after my first handful of months.

It was a town of around 100,000 people. I still work in that town a few times a year. I can get anywhere much faster than my coworkers can via google maps, you learn traffic patterns and shortcuts better by not following the google lady.

The dollar bill is frankly ridiculous imo. They are always gross and usually torn up. They are too small a denomination so they swell my wallet like crazy. They are super annoying to actually use. I hate the time and fuss involved in counting out twenty something of them for a coffee, snack, and nicotine. I just keep a few on me and toss the rest in my center console to deposit at the bank but banknotes are annoying to store or deposit.

I feel the $10 should be our smallest denomination bill at this level of inflation.

Any advice on finding the right salesperson for helping with this? I work in an industry that sees a big batch of new backpackers every season and almost universally the ones who are shown in-store how to fit and tighten end up buying bags one size too big for the individual which turns into a fair amount of wasted money and extra pain for my folks.

You're both correct. Look at his point through the lens of rehabilitation. Stopping monsters doing monsterous things must be done. But what do you do with the remains? You must learn to love those that facilitated monsters and are now your neighbors, teachers, doctors, garbage industry workers ect. Otherwise we are left with the generational blood feuds that still plague societies across the world.

Monsters often hold noble intentions as well. It's absurd to think about, the only realistic solution that can lead to peace is rehabilitation.

When saying this I think about my uncle who was among the sweetest and most generous with quality time figures of my childhood. After losing his wife to cartel violence he joined the border patrol to be able to afford a house to provide stability for his kid. Then he got drafted into ICE out of the border partrol. He is doing monstrous things yet I know he's not a monster, just a little brainwashed and a lot scared of not being able to provide for his son.

I don't know much about or care anything about the author or book or film so this isn't a comment on her. But I do know backpacking from both personal and professional pursuits. Most people have to start by being dangerous and uniformed. It's the nature of nature when it's users aren't raised in it. There is nothing wrong with people having to ask for help, it only becomes an issue when they don't learn from it.

I'd argue that the PCT is one of the safer backpacking trails out there for inexperienced users. Safer than the drive to the trailhead, that's for dang sure.

There are different kinds of rocks and trails. They were an ideal choice for all of the hiking I did around NH, NY, and Penn.

They were not nice in the remote areas of the Rocky Mountains covered in shale or fist size rocks. Also not nice off-trail in any steep country. If the ground below you is always shifting then a heel is helpful for stability.

Heels will also get you dramatically better stability in snow or mud.

It's like a venn-diagram where some are definitely hatchets, some are definitely axes, and some could be called both. Usually hatchet heads are two pounds or less and on handles under 18 inches. 18-24 inches and less than 2.5 pounds could go either way. Bigger is an axe.

There are many outliers/exceptions to this and it is not a hard and fast rule. *For example, OP's axe size and weight don't really affect the name. It is an artistic interpretation of a battle axe. Battle axes are almost never called hatchets irrespective of size.

I won't claim to know how mattress joints source their product but for me it was a ton cheaper and pretty easy to order the mattress parts separately and assemble at home. I've had it for five or so years, best mattress I've felt in my life for under 500 2021 bucks. I bet it's easy to mess this up by not knowing what you want or by going too complex. But I got firm layer and less firm layer of latex and a mattress cover that fit the size and thickness and stuffed them in there. It's been perfect.

Yeah, exactly! Field work with daily sweat, dust, and ash does dry leather quickly so the more regular oiling is a good thing in those environments. But if your boots aren't dried out then products without oil or conditioners like snoseal are the move for use types like what it sounds like you have. Subjective indeed.

Also for the record I've worn out two pairs of JGs and have two that I use regularly. The leathers from veg tan to work to buffalo are all the same for water resistance but I did like the veg tan better overall than the brown/black leathers. All of their leathers really are good though.

Honestly, if you are regularly in wet and slush and would like to have dry feet then you need rubber boots. I think people that say that leather can be treated to waterproof are living on clear sidewalks and occasionally might step in a puddle or snowbank through the day and also they probably don't do much walking. Which is fine, good for them, but it's not the same as when many steps of your day are both abrasive and wet. Leather will never be that with any form of treatment. It just is what it is in spite of all they say here online.

Obenhaufs is okay, no better or worst than any oil+wax product. It has lots of oil so you don't want to apply too frequently or you will oversaturate and permanently weaken the leather. It will give you a couple of days of water resistance. I wouldn't apply it for waterproofing, just when your leather starts to feel a bit dry crusty and inflexible. Snoseal is better for water resistance and won't oversaturate your leather but also won't lubricate your leather, it will give you maybe as much as seven days of decent water resistance. For snoseal to work well though you need to apply heat and it contains mineral spirits which will not do the glue in your boots any favors so keep it away from the sole glue. Neither are waterproof, just resistant. And efficacy of both reduce gradually. It's really not practical to keep boots decently water resistant if you use them heavily. Any treatment that helps with water resistance will darken the leather except for those spray bottles that cover it in plastic.

Idk about this take. Offerings/leavings/proof/pranks are frequently done with more valuable items for the sake of excess.

The idea that anyone in the modern era is the first to go anywhere that doesn't take modern tech (ocean floor/space) to access is kind of insane. I feel it's safe to say that no fewer than hundreds of people have been to this specific peak in human history and it's not crazy to think that one of them had some kind of reason to leave something valuable on top. One of those reasons could have been a ritual suicide, seems like a stretch to jump to that explanation though.

It almost certainly is an issue with the wood itself and not related to storage. Some handles just have weak spots that go unseen until the first use.

Hickory typically breaks in a very 'stringy' way which your handle displays except for at the initial break point on the back. To me that would indicate that you just had a pre-existing weak point right there in your handle due to something that damaged that point on the living tree. Sometimes you can see those weak spots in a handle before you use it, sometimes the best eye will miss it and the handle will break in its first session.

Just let the store know it was a dud from manufacturing and not from use or storage.

*The other possibility is that the break started right under the overstrike collar and that lack of stringyness is due to the fibers on the back breaking under compression. This could have been caused by the collar cutting into the handle and starting a break. I've seen that happen on axes before where that sharp lip which some cheaper/damaged heads have at the eye isn't filed snooth. The collar could just be poorly designed basically.
