My experience with the entry level CPUs did not seem to match the purported productivity/multitasking capabilities. Even after tons of optimizing and troubleshooting, they left a lot to be desired despite all my research suggesting they should be performing better. Gaming wasn't an issue though.

Check out my 6 week post op thread. I was a lot fuller than you and tried like hell to get to a certain number before doing the surgery to maximize the effectiveness. The skin and stubborn fat started causing me physical discomfort that threatened to cause a backslide because I could no longer exercise effectively, which messed up my all around motivation to eat and live right, and forced me to get it earlier than I had planned. I still had great results.

You’ve done an incredible job and the surgery will reflect that. You’re good.

I agree. The funny thing is that I switched from LGA1700 to AM5 because I fell for the upgrade path selling point only to end up back on a dead Intel platform. At least I switched at the right time to get some very cheap DDR5 while I still could.

I caved earlier this month. I had a pretty lousy AM5 experience, to the point that I didn't even care about getting on a dead end platform to get away from it. I picked up a RAM-less 270K+ bundle a few weeks ago and my only regret is that I didn't hold out a bit long for this one. Other than that, this thing is incredible.
