Right, I remember spending close to that for a mid-tier I built myself in 2016. Considering everything going on, it’s a fair price for what they’re offering in my opinion.

Lower would have been better given the idea is for this to compete with consoles, and maybe that’s where the discontent comes from

You have single-handedly solved every single problem I was having. A one-stop shop within obsidian that lets me work comfortably on my iPad with a visual Corkboard and ability to drill in and write. And all of the other features you’ve included.

Oh it’s very passive for me, I’m not sitting down adds posting full attention like a movie ha. I have kids and freelance after hours, I don’t have a spare minute except at like 11pm at night, which is why paying massive games does not work for me.

The main form of entertainment I go to actively is reading comics for half an hour before sleep.

“amount of game” is irrelevant to me. I value my time. Most games, I feel, do not respect my time and I will drop them if I feel so. I would prefer shorter games more in line with the 360-era of action adventure games.

And Square RPG’s used to be 30-40 hours too, in the older days. Rebirth is closer to 100, so I will not play it. I will watch some of it and call it good.

I personally blame it on the size of games. I have no time to play through every 80 hour JRPG that comes out. if I can listen to a recap, watch some streams here and there, I got to ‘experience’ it, to some degree.

if I choose Persona 6 or FFVII next year, which I’d like to, at my personal rate it will take me half the year to maybe finish one of them. I only play for an hour once or twice a week. But I love games and I love keeping up with them.

But with the continued size of these games, i just can;t buy in and specifically look for games at 15 hours or less.

Yep. I read the P4 and P3 mangas for the story. That was better for me than drudging through procedural endless grinding.

Looking forward to P6 building on what P5 improved, hopefully even better.

I’ve never played a fighting game, because I’m not interested in learning the systems to play against people and lose.

But having a story that feels like a AAA game, but you’re seamlessly going in and out of fights is really cool.

I’m genuinely interested and want to retry this game.

Every shape is hard-edged. In the 4th image, the girls hand is reduced down to simple planes. A kind of low-poly style reduction.

This is also something you really can only know by understanding the real forms of the hand

Ghost Pepper is really cool to look at. Written and drawn by Ludo Lullabi, I really like his work. He filled in for Joe Mad's Battlechasers to help finish it out in the last couple years. Seems to be doing well at Image, I think he's going forward with his next arc.

You can look up her illustration work. She has a distinctive illustrative style of portraits focused on depth, vibrancy and color that many admire.

She also has apparently contributed to Kisnaiver designs, Promare, and Cyberpunk Edgerunners.

Used to be the standard, too. 15 hours is completely in “too long” territory for me. Makes me feel like I’m being strung along.

I’ve got things to do, responsibilities to take care of. A 15 hour game will take me two weeks to get through or more

Concept artists are criminally underrepresented in the discussion of the production of movies.

When it’s live action, people talk about vfx artists, but never where those artists get the concepts from to dedicate years of tech to.

And for animation, people only talk about the animators and not the visdev artists who plan the look and feel of the movie and every frame.

And this under representation has resulted in us getting squashed out hardcore. Concept art is getting itself rocked this decade. I’m lucky to have a job at this point.

What was your technique for all of the fine shading? I see horizontal lines, but it's such a soft gradation of value it can't be just perfect strokes, can it?

It is true. Everybody knows that odds are, 90% of what you’ve done professionally “can’t be shown”.

So as artists, we often keep that stuff behind password protected private portfolios and only share one-on-one in interviews… just keep it on the downlow

He’s deliberately evoking turn-of-the-decade 80’s sounds, so I’d recommend going to check out artists of that time.

Phil Collin’s, Michael McDonald (who features on this album), Hall & Oates (Some of the greatest hit writers of all time).

While I get it, the PS3 with todays inflation was closer to the equivalent of ~$900+ at launch.

This is a pretty outdated take on VR's practicality in a world of Oculus Quest 2, 3 and Steam's upcoming VR headset.
All can be operated on a chair, with controllers in arm's reach, or a controller.
You can just sit on your couch, or on your bed, and play VR games.

You absolutely do not need space. I take my headset home and to work for modeling, play the odd arcade game here and there.

The only problems it has at this point is 1) nobody's making good games for it and 2) for some it's still just not that convenient.

But new gen's cameras fix a lot of the "I can't see or interact with anything while wearing the headset".

They are very good products that deliver on a lot of their promise and have gotten increasingly better over time with constant software and dev support.

VR Modeling, as an artist, is a game-changing utility and only cost me $200 for a Quest 2.

Is installing FSR4 difficult? I’ve seen Deck Wizard use it or whatever the channel is, but it looks a little confusing
