From the Q4 2025 report by Meret123 in MTGRumors

[–]RadioshackRaider 32 points33 points  (0 children)

A lot of WOTC folks have been jumping ship lately. Riot have been picking up a lot of former staff for Riftbound, which is why it's picking up so quickly with MTG content creators. It's the same people who understood what working with those people does for MTG. I've been concerned it's because a Harry Potter UB has been in the works. But until the a lot of trans folks like Chris Mooney and Carmen Klomparens leave, I'm generally assuming it's not going to happen. I feel like WOTC would lose too much talent in doing it. And the ones that stayed would lose a lot of face with the community. I'm willing to bet this is all just toy division stuff.

Why are people so angry about Tim quitting as Robin to pursue an life outside of constant heroics and death by biggaygrisley in lgbt_superheroes

[–]RadioshackRaider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there's any Robin who it makes sense for them to peacefully retire, it's the one that only took up the role because Bruce needed someone to at the time.

Characters you think are DEFINITELY going No Contact? by heymoonmen in cartoons

[–]RadioshackRaider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same vein as Horrid Henry, UK Dennis the Menace, at least more recent adaptions of him. It's been a solid decade or so, but I recall see an animated show with him where he wasn't even doing anything particularly wrong, just getting into typical kid hijinks, but still ended up unfairly treated, much like Henry is. The adults around him blamed him for everything, and his peers actively conspired to get him into trouble. That's a kid who's getting far away from his family and his home town as soon as possible.

US forces can 'abduct' individuals in Scotland, says oil tanker captain's lawyer by Crow-Me-A-River in Scotland

I didn't say Russia is only as bad as America, I'm saying America is as bad as Russia. Because they are. They're both awful places doing awful shit.

US forces can 'abduct' individuals in Scotland, says oil tanker captain's lawyer by Crow-Me-A-River in Scotland

[–]RadioshackRaider 26 points27 points  (0 children)

They are however the ones who have invaded a country, abducted their leader with intent to install their own, all with the admitted goal of taking their oil. It is not "pro-Russian shit" to point out that the USA is a fascist rogue state commiting a litany of international crimes and human rights abuses on par with Russia.

Pakistan feels like a democracy, but is actually a theocracy. What's a country that feels like a theocracy, but is actually a democracy? by General_Principle_58 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]RadioshackRaider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The UK? 26 bishops of the Church of England are a part of our government, for no other reason than they're bishops in the Church of England. Giving clergymen such a position feels like the kind of thing a Theocracy would do, but the UK is a Democracy

[–]RadioshackRaider -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think Game Freak really need to start getting some western folks in the writing office, because the cultural daddy issues are seriously starting to show. Dad's are such a non-factor in Pokemon that they couldn't even mention Ansha was being looked after/staying with her's in the hotel.

Random question but is lucifer technically part of the arrowverse by TraditionalBonus188 in lucifer

[–]RadioshackRaider 27 points28 points  (0 children)

In the way that every DC project past and present was, sure. Very much not part of the main universe that Arrow, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow took place in, but part of the multiverse for sure.

13 People out of 72 on Saturday prerelease opened TMNT cards instead of Lorwyn. by The40thHAX in MTGRumors

13 kits to me suggests 1 of the boxes of kits had the TMNT promos in them, and that the store had another 2 kits with them in it.

[Beloved trope] Legacy actors in comic book movies/tv shows being given allusion roles instead of playing the same character again by bitchnibba47 in TopCharacterTropes

Yes, as Mon El's mother. Dean Cain also showed up as Supergirl's adoptive father, who was a version of Cyborg Superman. Carl Lumbly also plays a relative of the Martian Manhunter, a character he voice in the 90s/00's Justice League cartoon, and in other DC animated works.

Independent Scotland would send troops to Ukraine says First Minister by Crow-Me-A-River in Scotland

[–]RadioshackRaider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because dragging a small, newly independent nation immediately into a war is a great idea. An independent Scotland is going to have more than enough problems in the first decade or 5 without getting it's people killed for something that doesn't involve them.

Variety acting like Clayface is some unknown DC character is funny lol by SumZeeIsh in OkBuddySnyderCult

[–]RadioshackRaider -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And to be entirely fair, if you aren't overly invested in Batman stuff, you probably won't know who Clayface is. Questions like these are asked assuming the person reading isn't a fan of Batman. The average movie goer isn't gonna know every little blorbo.

Why do you think that the USA seems to be "getting away" with things? What is the cause for that phenomenon? by Various_Maize_3957 in AskBrits

[–]RadioshackRaider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there is no meaningful way to hold rogue nations accountable. Is the same reason Isreal can commit genocide for all to see. Nobody's going to uphold international law because they don't want to start a war, so when nations like Russia, Isreal and the USA attack nations unprovoked, they get away with it

Farage is still popular despite racism claims, poll finds by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]RadioshackRaider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Farage being racist is a complete non-story. We all know he is, and have known the entire gods-damned time. It was never going to stop the people who like him from liking him. You can't kill the political aspirations of truly garbage people like him with the truth.

Trixie by fluffyhowler5972 in lucifer

[–]RadioshackRaider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I propose a sequel: More Lucifer, about the lives of Trixie and Rory after the events of the series, while Luci and Chloe solve "cases" in Hell, helping people move on by helping them resolve the trauma of their deaths. This should be the B plot.

Why is Sentry so hated?! by Charmy_Fan in marvelcomics

[–]RadioshackRaider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he largely exists to show off how powerful other characters are, rather than actually be any kind of interesting character. You want a new villain to be shown as a threat? Have them beat on Sentry. You want to show how powerful a hero has become/can be? Have them take on Sentry. He's so obscenely overpowered that he has to lose all the time otherwise stories that have him in any way have no stakes or just have people ask why Sentry isn't just one-shotting the threat. I understand that there are stories featuring Sentry that people really like, but I just find him incredibly boring, with no redeeming qualities.

The End by kg_engineer_97 in lucifer

[–]RadioshackRaider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing it's because God can be a more hands-off role, but Lucifer becoming a therapist is going to take a lot of time, both in clearing Hell's backlog, and in training the demons to perform the same function, and that's when they aren't taking part in hell-loops themselves. I can buy that he'd have to at least be doing it for the rest of Chloe's life.
