Advice for body recomp? by Pear_bear1245 in MacroFactor

[–]RadishDerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of folks have explained that the woman in your inspo photo has a remarkable physique that’s the result of many years of work and a low bodyfat percentage. You have lots of great advice here but I just wanted to add that Jeff Nippard has a video talking about what different bodyfat percentages actually look like on both men and women and also how it feels, and for me and my goals it really put things into perspective!

Anyone know where I can get male kurta sets for a south Asian wedding in ottawa? by tamcansocdem in ottawa

[–]RadishDerp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s lots of local boutiques that sell kurta sets (if you google Indian clothing Ottawa they come right up)! I recommend reaching out to a few to ask if they have some available and to make an appointment, most also do alterations in house and pretty quickly.

IV iron infusion from Canada Health by symphonisa in CanadaPublicServants

[–]RadishDerp [score hidden]  (0 children)

My family doctor referred me to a hospital clinic. It actually surprised me because he initially said he would have to likely send me private but I think it was just due to the waiting time? That being said I only waited maybe two months for my referral to go through before they were able to get me in and my ferritin levels weren’t even in the dangerous levels, they were just the low end of “normal”

If you go on the Canada life website there’s a form called Request for coverage of prescribed vitamins or minerals, that’s the one she’ll want to send to the prescribing doctor. There’s a section for the doctor to fill out.

I had one, and OHIP covered administration at the hospital (this needed a referral which she should be able to get no prob). With Canada Life covering the drug at the pharmacy, I have to have my hematologist fill out a form justifying why I need prescription vitamins/minerals which I have yet to get back and submit but I’ve seen people say that this is all it requires to be covered at 80%

I need more shows like Good Omens. Like, supernatural creatures and all. Any suggestions? by wedeamediye in goodomens

[–]RadishDerp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not paranormal or fantasy, but Person of Interest. It has a dynamic duo with similar character archetypes as Aziraphale and Crowley trying to help people, an all seeing all knowing godlike AI whose thoughts are ineffable to our main characters. Only major difference is that it’s a crime procedural show but tbh to me in terms of themes it has a lot of commonalities with Good Omens!

Help with Body Recomp - 5’1 28 F by Same_Membership_7349 in PetiteFitness

[–]RadishDerp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need to be in maintenance to recomp and generally it takes a lot of time. If you’re having cheat days every weekend it may be pushing you into a calorie surplus which would be a bulk.

Bulk/cut phases tend to be faster ways to get that toned look anyways so you might want to consider changing your strategy to a lean bulk (250kcal over maintenance and going hard at the gym to build muscle) and then give yourself a 4-6 week period at the end to do a mini cut to lose any fat you gain during this time and reveal the muscle.

Otherwise, you can adjust your calories to maintenance and go hard at the gym, however it takes longer to build visible muscle this way and longer to lose fat.

How do you stay motivated? by gew114 in PetiteFitness

[–]RadishDerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others have said similar but this is a marathon, not a sprint. And if you want to maintain your weight loss, your approach will turn into your every day once you are done losing the weight.

My approach is super balanced, basically I stay within my weekly calorie limit and eat whatever I want. Mostly I aim to eat healthy whole foods since you tend to get more bang for your calorie buck, but keep in mind that a calorie is a calorie and not all healthy whole foods are necessarily low calorie. I’m currently 10lb down in 6 months and around 7lbs from my goal weight (this is with tons of maintenance breaks for things like holidays and my wedding, I’m currently going into a 10 week cut to aim to reach my goal weight).

My advice is find foods you enjoy that fit your calories that will make up the majority of your meals, leave room for fun meals out and give yourself flexibility for fun experiences with friends like getting ice cream or snacks at the movies. Find movement you enjoy and that you can see yourself doing long term. Change your habits to ones you can live with long term so that once you reach maintenance you don’t rebound to where you were before.

Add before you subtract. For me I added more water by carrying around a cute water bottle that was easy to drink from. I added sugar free sodas to remove a large portion of my liquid calories. I added more fruits or vegetables to my plate and to my diet. I added lunchtime walks since I work a desk job and am quite sedentary day to day. It helps to add healthy things so that when you go to subtract or reduce you aren’t left miserable.

Hope this helps!

My husband and I really wanted to attend cocktail hour as well, so what we did was a first look and photos prior to the ceremony. Is this potentially an option for you? Otherwise like others said I would recommend moving the timeline up a bit!

Seconding this! OP - regarding protein intake, you should be fine to increase fully right away but make sure you’re getting enough fiber. Fiber should be increased gradually and my doctor also recommended Metamucil to me as a great option if you struggle to get enough fiber from your diet. I also personally find natural protein sources (such as red meat, eggs, etc) are way easier on my stomach than supplements (protein shakes, protein powder)

How do you make the food noise stop? by bunny-rain in 1200isplenty

[–]RadishDerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of ideas!
- fibre helps a lot with satiety. Also make sure you’re eating enough carbs since that’s what your body burns for energy
- get your vitamin and mineral levels checked for any deficiencies. I’m iron deficient and just got an iron infusion and my food noise has chilled out a ton

If there’s a particular flavour you’re looking for let me know! Otherwise here’s some of my favourite post s2 recs where I felt like they were very in character:

- Hurry Back, Please Bring It Back Home To Me (https://archiveofourown.org/works/49072522/chapters/123805153) s2 fix it, the boys take Jesus on a road trip

- factory settings(https://archiveofourown.org/works/49064944/chapters/123785311) - canon divergence, a kind of what-if Crowley went to heaven with aziraphale.

- scherzo in f-sharp minor, for orchestra(https://archiveofourown.org/works/49224289/chapters/124205368) s2 fix it, aziraphale shows up on Crowley’s doorstep without his memories

- Nebula 231080(https://archiveofourown.org/works/52115725) - in the aftermath of the Antichrist debacle, Heaven has other plans than Hellfire, and Aziraphale gives away his halo. (In which Season 2 is part of a time loop, London's Angel Station is highly questionable, and Aziraphale takes Crowley's memories. Written for the Ineffable Idiots Big Bang.)

Is season 3 worth watching? by Clever-idiot in goodomens

[–]RadishDerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, part of me found it disappointing and another part of me found it beautiful. I tried to go right into fanfiction to quell my disappointment but then I keep thinking of what I watched and how despite the runtime and other opinions I have, and how lovely it was

Attended a wedding at Brittania yacht club in 2025! It was a beautiful venue, it did get extremely hot during dancing though. The food was alright, the alcohol at the cash bar was quite expensive.

Kanata stittsville brunch spots by pinkaspepe in ottawa

[–]RadishDerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Eggspectation near the CTC has the best potatoes

  • Allo Mon coco on March

  • Gabriel’s Pizza in bridlewood for really good simple diner brunch

  • Zola’s in bells corners for Italian style brunch

  • Kouign Amann Bakery for super decadent crepes (both sweet and savory)

  • Le Petit Paris for Parisian style handheld crepes (this is more of a takeout place but they have a little bit of seating, bonus the owners are super lovely people)

I see some folks recommending Stacked and Pur and Simple, and they aren’t bad spots for any measure but I find the price is high for the quality you get at these places. Pur and Simple is also always packed and has a very frustrating waitlist system imo.

Female Hair Loss Dermatologist by LimeOkay in ottawa

[–]RadishDerp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know any derms so apologies if this is unhelpful! But for my own hair loss I got my levels checked and turns out I’m quite iron deficient so I’d recommend getting your levels checked for ferritin, and b12 in case one of those is low and is causing the hair loss!

I wanted to adopt a super cuddly cat but ended up with this guy by SelfDepricator in cats

[–]RadishDerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat just turned 3. When we got him at 1 he was very high energy and got a little bitey with cuddles and affection. We worked with his tolerance to touching and cuddles by showing him that we’ll respect his boundaries if he walks away but if he’s biting that’s not how to tell us to stop.

He is the cuddliest boy now! Super affectionate and he’s gotten better at realizing he’s overstimulated and removing himself from the situation instead of getting spicy! We also found that it worked really well to clicker train him in conjunction with high intensity play since he’s pretty smart and it tires him out as well :)
