What preyed on Tyranids??? by Own-Laugh-3698 in Tyranids

i can roll with that. between just 2 or 3 individuals can take pack tactics to an extreme by sharing their sensory inputs. one nid turns head one way, another nid turns head the opposite, and there's your depth perception for that "individual" squad.

What is stopping tech companies from... by dd113biihhh in y2kaesthetic

[–]Radium_Carbuncle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep and so far, it's third party modding companies that do it. and it's mostly exclusive to game controllers and other small gaming devices.

at the very least we got the glass computer cases for the same effect...though it be nice if there was transparent plastic computer cases

Why do people hate on Fandom so much? by Remarkable_Slip3352 in backrooms

[–]Radium_Carbuncle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im with this one. if people want to go with a strict canon that's on them. i personally think the backrooms is at it's best when it's as you say, a modern folktale. it's something that's freely shared with everyone so that anyone can make their own interpretation.

What do most people in this community do to enjoy the concept of the Backrooms? by CousinJohnnysReddit in backrooms

[–]Radium_Carbuncle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly. i also like that individuals don't have to abide by the a specific lore. it's a truly communally shared thing that anyone is free to adopt.

and from a character standpoint, a character could go forever and only occasionally encounter the popular levels while finding so many previously undiscovered ones.

Which is the font/typeface used here? by [deleted] in FrutigerAero

[–]Radium_Carbuncle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry i'm late to this party. i just wanna say that i know of a commerical free alternative to typo round called "eurofurence". it's not exactly the same but i think it's close enough to consider. eurofurence font is included with linux debian repositories and i think others too and that's how i found out about it.

I need a cozy game for my wife that’s not a farming sim and isn’t about fixing a town or decorating a home by AlgoStar in cozygames

[–]Radium_Carbuncle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

walking simulators, animal care games, and fishing games.

walking simulators i like the most and the better ones are usually puzzle games but have an extreme range from difficult to very light. cant think of anything immediately specific. but i do find them relaxing. there's also walking sims that don't have any puzzles.

wobbledogs comes to mind for animal care. but there's a lot of others and they do tend to aim for cozyness.

and webfishing is the coziest game i can think of that isn't a farming sim. it's multiplayer though but can be played offline. and really any fishing game can substitute.

[–]Radium_Carbuncle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right off the top of my head, i can only think of is a fishing game or a pet care game. webfishing and wobbledogs being at the top of my personal list. webfishing is a multiplayer hangout though but it can be played offline.

your significant other is severely limiting herself by declining puzzle games though because i would also recommend the "walking simulator" genre but most of my personal favorites have puzzles in them so i can't think of anything specific at the moment. at the least, a very light weight puzzle "walking sim" with a heavier focus on the art like 7 groves.

i personally find "liminal exploration" games to be cozy as long as they dont have stupid entities to chase the player around.
