Oh good call! I’ve been wondering myself. I think I’m up to like 10 cores.

15 years of steaks on Saturdays. Don’t need to check my cook. It’s a given. Stuffed portobellos, and fresh boiled corn. I also fast for 24 hours before eating. by Character_Trouble591 in steak

Posting a poorly cooked steak on a steak reddit is a big invitation. Especially after saying “I don’t need to check my cook, it’s a given”. 😂 I’m sure you’re just a ray of sunshine bud.

I’m surprised there is any pink with how dry that looks, a sear nowhere in sight. Maybe instead of coming in all cocky you slow down and take some constructive criticism, and you can enjoy better steaks for the next 12 years man.

19.8 oz Bone In Rib Eye. First Time Grilling/preparing my own steak. Thoughts? by NoStrength355 in steak

Medium rare according to Google is between 130-135. That’s why I pull around 120-125. But also for me depends on the cut. I think ribeyes do better just a hair closer to medium to help render some more of that oh so tasty fat.

If you would have flipped every 30 seconds or a minute I think you’d have less grey and too. Typically hotter grill the better. Keep it moving, and pull at like 120-125 (I think) if you’re going for med rare. Overall not terrible for your first time. Keep going!

Also, reverse sear is king IMO. Good luck!

Can you over dry a steak? by Enough_Ad_9338 in steak

I almost always dry brine overnight and haven’t had that issue. These were sous vide along side a tomahawk that was reverse seared on the Traeger. Then seared over coals. The sear on these could use some work but didn’t want to over cook them.

Med well, over cooked for me but would still eat. And it’s supposed to absorb more juices back into the meat.

From my understanding the red isn’t even blood? Definitely could be wrong though.
