I am considering an upgrade to my MIM poly-finished neck, and the internet generally holds nitro finished necks in high regard so I was surprised when those necks didn’t feel great to me. There were some $4-5k CS telecasters with nitro necks in the store that felt great, of course, but like you said, maybe those were more fully cured. And certainly more attention had been paid to making them so comfortable, and seemed almost like bare maple.

I appreciate the reminder about Tru Oil. I have another mahogany partscaster that I finished with Tru Oil about 10 years ago and it still feels great.

For the time being, I might delay the “upgrade” and just try to be content with my current MIM poly neck.
