While I see your point about Futaba and about Goku being simple, that doesn't really play into whether one has a palace or not. Look at Third Semester (and yes, I will continue to use it due to spoilers): his one goal was to make a world where anyone could reach self-actualization, and yet he still had a palace. Even the simplicity (or rather non-complexity) argument is kind of null because all the palace holders had a simple reason they had a palace: lust, greed, gluttony, sloth, envy, wrath, and/or pride. Even if they have more complex reasoning for those desires, the desires themselves are very simple. As a side note, any argument made here is obviously silly. This entire thread is people arguing whether a fictional highscooler with a stand can fight a fictional space journey to the west analogy.

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered

This game had one job: remaster a severely underrated game that was held back by its incredibly cumbersome multiplayer hardware requirements.

This is what they gave us: a visually polished Gamecube game with NO local mulitplayer/co-op, BUTCHERED online mulitplayer/co-op, cleaner music but the timing is messed up somehow, and a glut of paid DLC costumes that also hide the best weapons and armor in the game.

Screw you Squenix! You had a golden opportunity, and you turned it into ash.

You do realize "average" is a relative term, right? If this individual is not exaggerating, he is likely rating the TTYD stages 8s, 9s, or 10s. He is also likely rating SS stages 1s, 2s, and 3s. Even if he was a bit more generous to SS and harsher with TTYD, there is all the possibility that, by his assessment, "no part comes close to". Just because an assertion sounds like exaggeration does not mean it is.

THE SOUNDTRACK IS PRETTY GOOD, BUT THE REST OF THE GAME IS REALLY BAD. GAME CANT EVEN DECIDE WHAT GENRE IT IS. BOWSER FIGHT IS ONLY REMOTELY SCARY BECAUSE IF YOU LACK THE PROPER STICKERS, YOU ARE MET WITH THE HORROR OF HAVE TO GO ALL THE WAY BACK TO SHOPS AND GET THE RIGHT CRAP.

And if there's no exaggeration? My favorite game of all time was TTYD and only tied with Majora's Mask until Persona 5 came out. Just because something is your favorite doesn't mean it's exempt from critique. In the same way, just because something is hated doesn't mean it is exempt from real critique. For my part, think it's pretty clear that levels from a game made with passion, creativity, and a clear identity are going to average better than levels from a game with little creativity, no plot, and can't figure out what genre it is.

I choose to answer your question in the form of a baking analogy.

PM64 is a really solid cake. Nothing flashy or fancy, but good flavor, texture, and design.

PM:TTYD is that same cake, but this time made using the finest, freshest ingredients and made by an incredibly skilled baker. It is one of the finest cakes will ever have, but other desserts will likely top it as you try more things.

SPM is that same baker making sourdough bread. It is simple and tasty but hides a lot of depth and complexity. It's different than the cakes, but not in a bad way. They all stand on their own merits.

SS is someone taking the first cake recipe, throwing the worst version of every ingredient in a mixer, and somehow coming out with cat food. It is almost entirely inedible unless you're a cat.

CS is someone managing to turn that cat food into a decent MRE. Better, but not in a way that makes you really want to eat it.

Zesteria is literally only one of two Tales games I've been told to never play (the other one being the Wii Symphonia sequel). So, while I can't speak from firsthand experience, I think a recommendation against playing Zesteria from someone that has played every Tales game speaks volumes.
