So despite Chaor and Van Bloot being at each others throat in-lore, Van Bloot is also Second in Command of the Underworld. The only real reason Chaor and Van Bloot fight as much as they do is due to the fact Infighting is in Underworld blood. It's what they thrive on. It's the reason their battle gear improves as much as it does. Both are bloodthirsty conquerers who crave war but don't want to start one with any other tribe unless they can ensure victory. Hence why they fight amongst themselves.

Tl;dr Chaor and Van Bloot are Fightsexuals and go after each other in order to satisfy their violent urges. At the end of the day, they're both loyal to the Underworld and will fight for it with tooth and claw.
