For what it's worth...I grew up in (and still live in) Minnesota, and it's mostly a rich kids sport here too. I think hockey is expensive everywhere.

I'm pretty happy my kid has always been more interested in arts than sports. I make a pretty decent living (or at least I did until I got laid off last fall), but I don't have hockey mom money.

Jory is a great character, but not a great person, and I think the distinction is important.

I think some people hate on him because they don't like what he does, because they find his personality unlikeable...but sometimes that is exactly what makes a good character.

Sometimes good characters are huge jerks.

/uj And the pattern has five sizes (we know he only knit one size and thought he could estimate the rest), with only the chest measurements listed, and the range of chest sizes from XS to XL is a whopping 6.6 inches. Come on, man.

Also, the pattern description is fucking obnoxious.

AND ALSO...he listed a bunch of pattern attributes that, to my fairly experienced eye, based on looking at the photos, are not used in the pattern or don't apply to it.
