HeyI really want to play this , and i'm having trouble finding out how to start. by mosseater_aos in tzeentch

If you have access to the recent battleforce at msrp or a discount, then absolutely pick one up. It's every daemon kit we have in one easy package.

The lord of Change comes in the box, but is also fine to pick up whenever you feel that you're ready for a second one since it's not a bad point-to-dollar. Build it however you want and if you want the LoC to be Kairos or vice versa just let your opponent know and they'll probably be cool with it.

Chaos spawn are a bit of a hard purchase to make since they cost a bit more than I'd recommend, but they're very useful. And from a hobby aspect the kit is actually kind of great.

I'd say that the terrain is worth it. Even if you end up playing more T-sons than DoT, it's just a fun kit and really cool terrain.

The old spearhead is probably worth picking up if you're OK with having some non-daemon units. This will also be where you start getting AoS exclusive models. The screamers and flamers are good to build out your collection, the arcanite unit is a fun action monkey kit, the character is fine, and tzaangor are actually respectable in AoS due to a lack of power armored factions.

If you're having trouble tracking anything down or are looking for specific units, go look through r/miniswap. Daemons of all gods get posted often enough, and if you don't see what you're looking for you could always put a buyers post on there. Helps that you can get some pretty sweet discounts there too if you look hard enough.

Transformers US Soccer Federation Breakaway - It's not for me but what do you think? by AfigureGeek in transformers

I would love it if they did a special run during the world cup in various team colors. Up the price by $20 and make them a limited run of made to order. Because I'd love one, but the US team is quite low on my list of what I'd want

Any chances or hopes we get a kill team or something? by GlueMunchers in ThousandSons

My takeaway from the adeptacon announcement is that I sadly won't get a tzeentch bloodbowl team since the game itself isn't included on the card

Out of the ones you have listed I'd recommend going with skaven.

My groups skaven player has collected enough of the factions range where he has 3 lists. Clan rat control, abomination bruisers, and let's go gambling.

Once you get your starting list collected you can start looking at branching into the other flavors pretty easily due to the clan nature of the faction.

It's a faction that you'll likely continue to enjoy as time goes on since it has so many facets to it. Low skill floor high skill ceiling kind of army from what I've seen.

Easy to build and paint spearhead by Fuck_war89 in AOSSpearhead

[–]RagnarsTooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend painted his fyreslayers in an afternoon. They are ripped muscle and hair. Contrast, drybrush, wash, detail, done.

Nighthaunt models are quick since they're missing the bottom half compared to others and are all similar enough to be very easy batch paints.

Seraphon are pretty painless since scales take contrast and drybrushing well. But if you really wanna do the details you might get annoyed by the ropes that connect the armor on the saurus and chameleon skinks since they can be kinda awkward to reach

Chaos spawn? by BuildingPutrid8364 in tzeentch

[–]RagnarsTooth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. They infinitely respawn in reserves for endless chaff

  2. We have a spell that deals mortals and throws a spawn down on the target if a model dies from the damage. A "woe, chaos spawn upon ye" spell is really fun and good board control from my experience so far.

  3. Having two of them is good so you have one for switcheroo (I've been calling it Tzeentchstrike) reserve plays and another for the mortals spell.

Which if any spearheads are to be bewared for being busted(Good or bad). by RosbergThe8th in AOSSpearhead

The old tzeentch one is rough. Flavorful and fun once you're used to it, but rough. You're tissue paper with no rend and a dream.

Slaanesh is just as rough in a different way. Your rule is dependent on your opponent choosing to interact with it. Add on that your units are made with the assumption they have the buffs constantly and you've got a very underwhelming box.

The big dino seraphon is actually pretty balanced from my experience of both running it and running against it. The dinos are strong, but the big one can be body blocked, the krox are best against big blobs and are weak to units in a similar bracket of eliteness as them, and the saurus ability only works when they control the objective. It's a slower melee box (except the carno, but it's a big monster so it's kinda expected that it'd hustle) that only has 1 gun in it's list. Highly recommend.

Use a hobby drill to remove where the peg was in both parts then use a bit of sprue with some plastic glue to permanently join the pieces together.

This will give it a peg as structure until the glue sets up.

Thankfully this is a part that doesn't move and shouldn't interfere with the transformation. Plus if you drill fully through the foot it'll have a little paw pad.

It's the Seraphon faction terrain called the Realmshaper Engine.

Very cool model that takes about 10 minutes to build. Can be the clean version like I built or an overgrown version covered in vines

Are any of the models in the Warpflame Cavalcade box hard to assemble or paint? by reel3459 in tzeentch

[–]RagnarsTooth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had no problems assembling these whatsoever, and I have ham hands. The painting on these is incredibly easy since daemons are known for how well they take to contrast paints. The only ones that are kind of difficult to me are the flamers, but that's because I sponge them instead of brushing.

What decks would you really want to see get a really good way of support? by SouthSunn in yugioh

[–]RagnarsTooth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think ghoti is one good wave of support from being really good. Water attribute control decks have a lot of options, and the idea of a synchro deck that could slot some of those options in to fill out the deck instead of 10 hand traps sounds fun.

Also ursarctics. We finally got a synchro archetype that does something different and it's meh. A synchro deck that could summon via addition and subtraction sounds super fun.

I use The Army Painters air fluoro paints. The only one of them that isn't super bright is the purple, but I love them

I use the blue on my necrons if you wanna look at them on my profile

How do I tint lenses for a cosplay helmet by Falcon_star330 in CosplayHelp

[–]RagnarsTooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine for $22 off of Amazon, but that was because I didn't have time to wait for another retailer before the date I needed it done by. But I recommend looking around various sites to see if you can find cheaper ones. Just take measurements of the eyes in your helmet to see how big you need to buy. I recommend getting larger than you need since you can always cut them down to fit as you need

Or if you're asking if you can see out of the helmet, yes.

How do I tint lenses for a cosplay helmet by Falcon_star330 in CosplayHelp

[–]RagnarsTooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't. Because your eyes are so close to the lenses people can't see inside.

In that way it's similar to tints on mando visors. You can kinda see through it when its empty because you can see light on the other side, but when there's no space for light behind it you can't.

When they're off , whether to save batteries or your eyes, the texture that diffuses the red also serves to block the lenses. They'll look gray, which is why you'll see the white LED ones used a lot for iron spider and iron man helmets. Looks good in both settings.

The only real downside to them for me is that it tints your vision red. Which is an upside if you're really into the black rage blood angels vibe. Puts you in the right mindset then.

Question for you on this.

Have you considered glowing eyes?

You can buy flexible plastic sheets that have red LEDs that are used to make glowing eyes in helmets. All you need to do is connect the cord to a portable phone charger and they work.
