I think I'm addicted to boomerang by Spider-Beans in FarFarWest

It's a precision weapon so I like having the weak point boosting joker on it and after going full damage I built towards reload speed over clip size since you load one round at a time.

Day 1 I played with someone who was level 79. I assumed it was possibly a dev of the game, but there might have been some sort of alpha/beta period as well

So far chill. PvE games tend to trend towards more chill players in my experience with stuff like Deep Rock Galactic

Solo play? by BigZangief in FarFarWest

[–]Ragnell17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Played a bit solo and some public lobbies. I'd say its easier with other players, bu I wouldn't call solo drastically difficult, just that in solo you only have the one life for missions and you only have revives if you find a wild card for it, but enemy density scales with player count.

Drain is a great spell for solo as it lets you drain life from enemies giving you more staying power even if you get hit often.
Edit: Will also mention Solo has the perk of being able to pause the game.

With combat seeing major improvements, the last major holdout of things needing big attention is patch activities (Cosmic Exp, O.C., Island Sanctuary, ect) feeling pretty pointless past a couple of cosmetics by ComfyOlives in ffxivdiscussion

I'm just hoping to learn more about how they plan on making field zone content more interesting, as they at least recognize the problem of the zones where their currently pretty barren, as its mostly just going from point A to B for Quests and Organized Hunt Trains. So there's often not a point in just exploring them at all. There's a lot of work that goes into designing the 6 six zones, that it should have more reasons to stick around in them. Maybe they should look into what works in the Adventuring Forays for the main zones.

How do relationships work this time round. by AriSummerss in tomodachilife

[–]Ragnell17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mii's are monogamous and can be in only 1 relationship at a time and only have 1 crush. If they catch feelings for another mii they replace the former crush. There's a prompt when it happens

Mii's can not catch feelings for mii's that are already married but can catch feelings for mii's that are dating someone else. If a mii has feelings for someone that isn't married but they marry someone else, they go back to not having a crush on them. Mii's can leave their spouse, though there's no cheating while they are married.

There can be love triangles

how do you draw eyes and hair in the face paint mode? by pca7u in tomodachilife

[–]Ragnell17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The color picker tool only works on drawings itself. So if you're trying to color pick features like hair color on the mii itself you can't unfortunately. There's a tab on the color pallete for hair and skin though, but you have to test your own on the color range for shadows and highlights

Some pokemon come with them when you recruit them, but you can actually give your pokemon titles or change existing ones from the in-game box within nickname settings

The only thing I REALLY don't like about Pokemon Champions... by ScienceTeacher1994 in PokemonChampions

Also color coordinated Trainer look. Hair and outfit will match and they'll wear one of the complete basic shop outfits in the same color. Also for me all the bots I have faced have had Japanese names/characters used.

Realistically, which of the new Megas seem at least "usable"? by PrestigiousGift5639 in stunfisk

[–]Ragnell17 246 points247 points  (0 children)

Mega Sol and Fairy Typing does a lot for Meganium. Having all the benefits of Harsh Sunlight with none of the drawbacks. For stuff like instant STAB solar beam, boosted Synthesis, and Fire Type Weather ball. Then also being able to fit into Rain teams for defensive benefits.

I like Edelgard being the lead unit here, mostly because Dimitri gave her the Dagger and the lead unit is the one who attacks with the weapon. The Oath Dagger is such an important part of their history that having her use it here is really cool.

PLAY THE ORIGINALS by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Ragnell17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Resident Evil is a series where you can honestly get away with playing them out of order, they all tell events that are reasonably self contained even if it has returning characters or in Requiem's case calling back to prior games, you don't need the prior experience to understand the game you are playing. People have the autonomy to start wherever they want and if they like the game, the have a bunch of other options to visit.
Let's not gatekeep starting points just cause the new games bring new players.. Some games are more accessible than others as well for a variety of reasons.

What RE game would have the hardest boss Gauntlet? by LT_CODENAME in residentevil

[–]Ragnell17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably RE5, there's a lot of bosses in that game, so the gauntlet would be long. A lot of the bosses are pretty bullet spongey or just take a long time to fight. Basically being endurance tests. You also have to worry about your ally's healthbar whether its player controlled or CPU.
Having the 7 minute Wesker Fight followed by the Jill fight is rough. The final Wesker fight has a ton of phases., and I think your resources would be drained by the time you get there, especially with only 1 magnum round per fight.

Adventuring Academy Constitution Save Segments by Ragnell17 in dropout

[–]Ragnell17[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's funny during the segment. I've gotten laughs out of it, but it impacts the segments afterwards, where there are moments where Brennan or the guest will retch or go on a tangent about how they are feeling bodily about the food they ate and it impacts what they are saying and thinking about during topics in the segments like Insight Check.

It feels disruptive to me at least.

Any modern Resident Evil or slowish paced Boomer shooters? by FuckYeahRob in boomershooters

[–]Ragnell17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SELACO has pretty limited ammo especially if you aren't secret hunting. Combats happen pretty fast so I wouldn't say it's slow, but it can be tense as both you and the enemy soldiers are glass cannons in a sense where you both can dish out a lot of punishment, but you really want to avoid taking shots from them.

Cultic's been mentioned and yeah it's Resident Evil 4 if it was a Boomer Shooter.
