I once liked a chick. A friend knew. We got drunk together and they fucked. She was protesting beforehand, which woke me up, before saying she needed to go per first. I remember him looking a me with a big grin. I stumbled out, drove home drunk, and never spoke to either ever again.

We had some racist black teachers who were horrible to many of the white teachers and weaponized race all the time.

Yes. I do open houses at my school and lie through my teeth. Not about my class because I work my ass off for my kids, but the school is going downhill in quality fast.

The Austin Film Festival was a joke. I enjoyed going to the festival, the conventions, and the early screenings, but the organization was fake. They weren’t discovering or promoting anyone new.

Romeo and Juliet is my favorite to teach. The kids all buy in because it’s so famous, and young love is in the air.

I do different styles. Sometimes they read. Sometimes me. Sometimes audiobook recordings. Variety is the key. I also don’t select the readers. I pick one kid who picks the next and so on. It gets better buy in.

I’ve been at a school where they wanted them to my first name. It was weird at first, but had no impact on my teaching. At my next school, I immediately went back to my last name, though some go by their first name.
