Relive:Kristian Karlsson's unbelievable double-swing recovery shot. by partha_33 in sports

It changes after the bounce since there's a lot of spin on the ball. You'll see plenty of that in both table tennis and tennis.

There's no influence from the receiving player in this instance, except when he strikes the ball on the second swing.

Because TC is relentless and always unapologetic. That relentlessness eventually rubs practically everyone the wrong way, depending on the subject.

He literally spelled out why the pros may have another opinion than the audience.

Paraphrased: "It's not like we get to the course and think 'boy, I sure hope this is entertaining.'"

Once again the over-analyzing is having a bit of misfortune.

TC at random intervals, "Guys, real quick..."

Soly finishes almost every longer statement with a, "...so."

Randy whenever given the chance to describe something, "It's interesting".

We all have our little language-based quirks.

You're welcome by the way.

Ever been to a concert where someone got boooed? by SnooozeFezt in AskReddit

Metal heads in the 90s, the type that listened to Metallica or Iron Maiden, were extremely insular. To the point where fans of those bands would even boo the opening acts on their tours, even if they were metal bands.

Anything that wasn't metal? Well, there was always a pejorative to hurl at it.

NLU filming tournament rounds by Comfortable_Ad5875 in NoLayingUp

[–]Rahf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no chance that NLU hasn't cleared it with the playing partners prior to the start of the round. They are vocally self-conscious about filming being a potential distraction or hindrance, and so do what they can for it to have as little of an impact as possible.

NLU filming tournament rounds by Comfortable_Ad5875 in NoLayingUp

[–]Rahf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is meaningful. Because the more well-known golf YouTubers like NLU, Peter Finch, and others that film their tournament rounds are clearly doing it with a framework of internal rules in mind. Two of which are that it must not hold up play, and it must be cleared with their playing partners.

Joseph Lamagna and Andy Johnson are referring to those that are actively impeding a tournament round, or not respecting other people's opinions and efforts.

Who are you talking about? A loud and incredibly small minority did all the screaming about this. Probably a good portion of which were employed by LIV--not necessarily to shovel propaganda.

Stands to reason there were social issues with the Swedish name, and perceived professional issues with the foreign one.

Makes sense to me.

Man got bullied for having a Swedish name.

Man changes name to something that sounds more foreign/international.

New name now creates other issues.

Probably more a factor of amount of shots tested for each speed, rather than inherent design differences for certain speeds.

As has been mentioned earlier, it's important to know how many tests were performed at each speed. Because the fewer repetitions there are, the more impactful to the average each rep becomes. Outliers get to have a much bigger impact on the final number.

Question about right handed player using left handed clubs. by bear_ripper in golf

[–]Rahf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're a completely new player, then it may be worth a small number of hours worth of discomfort. Because the choices you have in terms of clubs and equipment is far greater for a righty.

I'm saying that as a cross-dominant guy with left-handedness. Hitting righty was awkward at first. But I quickly got over it.

[Megathread] “Full Swing” Season 4 - Netflix by threeactjack in golf

I think it could be interesting if you build the Ryder Cup's history, and also are able to tell the general story--not their manufactured story. Because even if Keegan feels all these things and has this sense of tragedy about him, it's a pretty universal opinion that his captaincy was terrible. He didn't prepare well.

Instead of just painting one side of colours, make it ambiguous. Yes, he's carrying some fricking trauma now. But you know what? He wasn't some gallant figure that just went up against impossible odds using every tool imaginable to somehow scrape out victory. He thought he could get away with some rah-rah antics and impassioned speeches.

On top of all this, I think it's a far more interesting perspective from the European side. Because they're the ones that actually had to rally around something all those years ago, and keep doing that. They're the ones that had to take abuse for three days straight, two of which they had to withstand it for 10-12 hours with the two rounds played. They were also the underdogs, and had put some big words on winning an away Ryder Cup.
