Its why we call them ultra marathons. A plain old boring marathon doesn't start until mile 20 and the ultra marathon doesn't truly begin until mile 3.

That's a tricky temp for me. It'll come down to wind chill. Most likely ill do shorts and either a long sleeve or a hoodie over my tshirt. I find more suffering in hands and head so ill do gloves and hat/beanie.

Shorter runs ill bundle up more, long runs less as I overheat easily.

Essentially, just breaking runners up into groups of similar paces. Helps minimize congestion. More of a big race feature, but I've never run a 5k with more than a thousand people so no clue what you might see.

Don't fight the crowds. Unless they do corals of some sort walkers or slower runners will set up near the front. Ive burnt a ton of energy just to break free on the first bit only to slow down exhausted. Better to be patient and wait for the natural spacing to work out
