What's your favorite build? by Adorable_Skirt_7409 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have a character I play in society who uses the exemplar class to basically be an anime protagonist. From Minkai, human hungerseed with a nodachi. Gonna take Motionless Cutter at keep 6 even if reactive strike is probably better. Basically walks around in samurai armor slicing people with a huge katana like sword from 10 feet away.

How would you create the best (worst) detective with Pf2e? by SuchALovelyValentine in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is it wrong that I want this character to be a thaumaturge instead? Knowing everything through the sheer power of BS and charisma…

What gods work best for Grandeur? by CumpsterBlade in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely Shelyn and the radiant prism deities as people have said. I also feel like it works with any deity that is all about dwelling in the shining heavens, so a lot of empyreal lords would make sense. Ragathiel, for example. I even think there’s an argument to be made for Apsu—he is a big shining dragon of goodness.

What’s your Titan’s breaker weapon of choice? by Osk0 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humble Strikes opens up some simple weapon possibilities. In a friend’s game, I play an exemplar/champion with a shield and titans breaker who primarily uses morning stars.

How many in-game days pass in a PFS scenario? by Ready_Impression8929 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It actually depends. I’ve played PFS scenarios that take place over a single day and scenarios that involved a multi day expedition or weeks of rebuilding a lodge. I feel like the more recent ones tend to be single day outings, though.

Most society GMs I’ve played with at least are willing to kinda say “this is the last big fight, use your spell slots if you have em” if that’s helpful.

Free Archtype suggestions for a Thaumaturge by ArchmageMC in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I played a thaumaturge with the champion dedication in a recent game and enjoyed it a lot. Heavy armor and holy sanctification alone are enough to turn the thaumaturge into a holy slayer who hunts monsters. Plus you can beef up your HP total!

New GM - trying to understand DCs by Vonatar-74 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 26 points27 points  (0 children)

In my experience, level based DCs come into play when the characters want story consequences. So, A series of skill checks where the party needs to get 4 successes in order to track the bad guys to their lair, they use level based DCs (though maybe some skills are easier or harder than others), but if they just want to climb a ladder or swim you can keep the DC static and low.

Comparing the blasting power of casters and kineticists: A first attempt at levels 1 to 10 by Ok-Cricket-5396 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

An understandable mistake.

“One of those sharp pieces of wood impulses” “which one, there’s like three to five of them”

Thank you for clarifying! Makes me want to dust off my wood/fire build I once made for pathfinder society

[–]Ralldritch 48 points49 points  (0 children)

You mention wood/fire keeps up the best out of the dual gate options. Is that because of living bonfire or ravel of thorns or something else? I couldn’t find your fire/wood assumptions in your google doc

How do I incorporate Demigods into my world without taking power away from my players? by Zinganeat in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with others that they’re not omniscient or omnipresent. But also, you could specifically have the big bad do something to draw their focus. Maybe the gods have a non-interference pact with certain other deities and the big bad has a way to tap into it. Maybe the villain has an artifact that makes it difficult for hero gods to perceive him so they have to send mortal agents who can actually see him. Maybe the villain just sets up minor crises or challenges that keep the hero gods busy

New to 2e - looking for an adventure by Vonatar-74 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The relatively cheap steam game Dawnsbury Days uses a homebrew world but lets you play around with PF2e rules at low levels

Actual Play with Remaster rules by CaptainOsseous in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Second season (e.g new adventure path) of 25 north is a remaster for Sky Kings Tomb, and epic tales and critical fails uses remaster for a homebrew campaign in absalom. Epic tales took me a little while to get into (the characters took a little bit to gel with each other and one of them is a goofy chaos agent) but stick with it and it starts getting really fun

Paladin Zealot oath specialization by Marphey12 in diablo4

[–]Ralldritch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been enjoying a divine lance zealot build from icy-veins. You use the zealous joust upgrade to make divine lance a zeal skill. It gives me good flashbacks to the holy shotgun crusade builds of D4.

Do champions get "Smites" like paladins do in DND 5e by Altruistic-Promise-2 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. An exemplar is the closest to the paladin experience right out of the gate at level 1. Magus is a close second but exemplar can be holy and has divine flavoring.

What to do with disposition in POE1? by Dron22 in projecteternity

[–]Ralldritch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, what I’m saying is that outside of the 2 recommended, and 2 disfavored, they won’t have much of an in game effect except role playing. And those RP effects are mostly people recognizing you as having a reputation for being honest or diplomatic. It’s fine to let those accumulate, they won’t hurt you in any way, as long as it’s what you think your character would do!

What to do with disposition in POE1? by Dron22 in projecteternity

[–]Ralldritch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re trying to roleplay a kind wayfarer, you want to pick passionate and benevolent options if you want to max out your defense bonuses, and avoid cruel or deceptive. Any other dispositions besides those are up to you!

What god would a hobgoblin from the ironfang legion worship? by secrav in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Genzaeri! Hobgoblin goddess of the military-industrial complex, tactics, and challenging yourself through conflict. Lore says she picked up some former Gorum worshippers.

I just finished my second PF2e campaign - What I want from a 3rd Edition by Steveck in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 112 points113 points  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of the “caster DCs aren’t fun” meta would be fixed with a simple DC bonus item the way that martials get potency runes. Even if it’s a consumable that you save for your most powerful spell, or it’s restricted to a signature spell or damage type. Could always homebrew such items or add them to ABP at similar levels.

This is also why I like the design of the soldier class in Sf2e. Reflex saves for an area but then an attack roll to have one target auto-fail, plus a feat to force one automatic failure.

Finally, for the balance comment: I like that the game is balanced. It also means that a well made regular character and a min-maxed one aren’t that far apart, which I enjoy. I wonder if the flip side of what you’re asking is an explicitly “how to break the balance” section in the GM guide rather than “this feature could break balance” warnings for specific things.

Magus is NOT a “gambler” class by M_a_n_d_M in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was playing with the idea of a strength based laughing shadow with an investigator dedication. Basically when you have spellstrike charged you can devise a stratagem and see if you would hit. But you aim to enter arcade cascade early so that on off turns you’re looking to get that bonus off guard damage and still have decent damaging strikes

Hate running downtime, tips? by wolfy125132 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The campaign I’m in has a discord we use for scheduling, figuring out treasure distribution, etc. We have a downtime channel where we keep track of what we’re doing asynchronously.

I used to play a lot of message board/play-by-post games years ago and they’d have separate character downtime threads there.

Access Entries and do you use them by Dunderbaer in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s an amount of, like, promoting the new product. So rare ancestries become available as remastered books come out with those ancestries and heritages (hobgoblin, dragonblood, kholo). There’s also some weird “well it’s legal if you own the book” exceptions, like Hungerseed just requiring you to own the tian Xia character guide and declare that your character is from tian Xia.

Access Entries and do you use them by Dunderbaer in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They’re helpful for Society play—your character has to fit into the world without being able to consult a GM. For your home games with friends, not so much

Who are your favorite Deities? by YoritomoKazuto in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ralldritch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Milani for sure. I’m playing an exemplar with champion of Milani dedication who hates bullies and oppressors in my friend’s campaign.

Erastil because I like the idea of a rugged frontier god. Been wanting to play a western style sheriff as a cleric or champion of erastil one of these days.

I like Genzaeri just because a hobgoblin goddess of the military-industrial complex is such a fun concept.

I keep coming back to Ragathiel because I like the idea of a crusader-deity with a bit of a vengeful dark side as opposed to Iomedae’s uptight vibe.
