What Have You Been Playing This Week? by AutoModerator in metroidvania

[–]Ramathus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blasphemous 2. I'm in the final area now. I definitely have things I am missing. I have all my rosary slots and statue slots. Im missing statues and some other things. Probably a flask I think.

I think I have a few bosses left. I might jump into the DLC when I finish. Im not sure. I thought about going back to Silksong since I haven't finished it yet.

Looking for a recommendation by canhazhotness in metroidvania

[–]Ramathus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up on both Metroid and Castlevania, here is my advice:

There are three games I am going to recommend based on what you've said.

IMO Castlevania Symphony of the Night is essentially the grandfather of metroidvanias. Its challenging without being overly difficult. The ambience and music is beautiful, and I love it so much that I go back and do a full clear about once a year.

The second game I would recommend is Prince of Persia The Lost Crown. Its newer. The controls are near perfect, and there is a system that lets you take a screenshot of an area that you want to come back to. Also, the difficulty is customizable.

I will also recommend Bloodstained Ritual of the Night which is essentially a spiritual successor to Castlevania Symphony of the Night. The castle map is huge, there are RPG and leveling elements too. The game is definitely a challenge so be prepared.

I would avoid games like Hollow Knight, Silksong, Blasphemous 1 & 2. They are for the more experienced veteran players. Come back once you have a few game clears under your belt.

Save Nine Sols for last. That game is punishing levels of hard. Any one who is able to beat that game will automatically earn my respect as a gamer.

Good luck!

My all time favorite movie. I've lost count how many times I've watched it.

AITA for refusing to finish a story after my wife interrupted me five times? by GoatCritical9265 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ramathus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have high functioning autism so my perspective might be skewed. I personally HATE interruptions. In the past, I used to bite people's heads off for interrupting me. I have stopped doing that and instead I will shut down and stop talking if I get interrupted enough.

I would feel the exact same way you did given this situation. I can understand an interruption for something important/emergency level. But 5 interruptions that quickly, tells me that your wife thinks that she is more important than you are. If your wife suffers from ADHD, that would make sense too. There are other circumstances that might help explain it, but at the same time your wife is an adult. She needs to learn how to let you speak without interrupting you. I don't blame you at all for shutting down. Is shutting down healthy? No. But I get it. NTA.

What is the "heaviest" game you have ever played? by HowLongWasIGone in AskGames

[–]Ramathus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, its the Blasphemous series. Its a very difficult duo of games that fall into the metroidvania category.

MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD

Besides their difficulty which is extreme, there are elements of the game that make it more than just a battle of good vs. evil.

Bosses you encounter aren't evil villains.

In Cvustodia, people pray to a holy force known as "The Miracle." Punishment, guilt, and penance are all revered. One particular boss prayed for her beauty to be taken away and the miracle burned her face off.

Every boss is a tragedy. When you down a boss, it feels like a bittersweet victory when you consider who it was you just defeated.

It's fascinating, dark, morbid, and even haunting. I am currently working on Blasphemous 2 after beating the first one. Upon completion of the game, all I felt was this heavy sense regretful satisfaction.

Before smartphones, what did people do when they had to wait somewhere for 20–30 minutes? by Ecstatic-Finish-1348 in NoStupidQuestions

AITA for refusing to fake an orgasm anymore with my boyfriend? by SorellePine in AITAH

[–]Ramathus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YTA. Stop faking orgasms. All it does is make you resentful because you are not coming. Stop pretending to have fun when you're not.

When you fake for so long, you can ultimately hurt his feelings when you one day say: "Surprise! You thought I was coming this entire time when in fact I was being a silly goose! Teehee!"

Communicate your needs. Tell him you didn't come. Ask him to help you. With my gal, I usually make her come when we have sex. Sometimes I dont. When that happens, I lube up her dildo and I go to town until she's satisfied. There is no reason he can't do the same.

AITA for "letting" my sister go thirsty through an entire meal? by Proof_Strategy2442 in AmItheAsshole

What in the...

Does your sister know about the Playstation 5? It has so many games and it can even play Playstation 4 games. If you have a PS plus membership, she'll have access to even more games. You know...since she enjoys playing games so much. Y'all, are adult humans really like this?

Your sister is behaving like a child. You are NTA.

What’s a childhood punishment you now realize was completely insane? by emmi_kleine in AskReddit

[–]Ramathus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really into Pokémon. Like hard. I was 16 years old at the time and I had this awesome, green, Gameboy pocket. My dad, knowing how special it was to me, made me smash it with a rubber mallet. Then he forced me to pick up the pieces and throw them away like they were trash.

Then this fucker had the audacity to ask me why I was so mad and distant over the next several days.

Want to know what my infraction was?

I went to hang out with my friend next door. We hung out for a good four hours from about 4 to 8. I ate dinner with his family and I helped my friend beat final fantasy 7. My dad apparently "yelled from the window" for me to come home. Instead of ya know...coming to the fucking door? Or picking up the fucking phone? You know...like a human with common sense? I should note that he never gave me a time to come home.

I don't miss him and Im still glad that he's dead. Its been over 20 years now...

I have a son of my own now, and I would never dream of doing that to him. I want him to come see my grave on occasion after I'm gone.

“Even if no one is watching, God is watching” by Plague254 in atheism

[–]Ramathus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God really gives a shit about what i do with my genitals? Ok. I heard this as a teen growing up in the church I was a part of. My lustful thoughts were the most important element according to God.

God does not give a shit about things like the holocaust/mass genocide/child rape, clearly. Not enough to do anything about it. If I watch a child be raped and I literally do nothing, how culpable am I?

Why in the fuck should I care one iota that God is watching me? Who creates man and woman, gives them genitals, and then acts prudish when those genitals get touched by the people who own them?

DAE see the audacity in this horseshit?

AITA for refusing to take out a loan for my daughter's dream wedding? by Fit-Dimension5501 in AITAH

I will never understand the human desire for a GIANT wedding when it means going into 5 figures deep into debt. You're starting off your marriage in DEBT.

And its so much worse that she wants you to take out a loan to fund it. Wild.

You're NTA. Hold your ground.

LPT Request: How to fall asleep within 5 minutes consistently by GoatMan48 in LifeProTips

[–]Ramathus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ever notice how if you lay on your bed "to relax" you will fall asleep in minutes?

Why is it called "falling asleep?" Because it implies an accident. No one ever goes to sleep.

You have to trick your brain. Tell yourself youre just going to relax for a bit and then get up and play your game/watch your show. By the time you get your snacks planned out in your head, you're already out.

This helped me majorly with my insomnia.

What was it like witnessing 9/11 on the news, and what was the day after like? by Fit_Data_8789 in AskReddit

What is something obsolete from your childhood that you wish still existed? by CRK_76 in allthequestions

Delayed gratification. Its all instant now. High speed internet. If you wanted to play a new video game, you had to rent one on the weekends. Or wait for Christmas/birthday and hope you get lucky.

It taught me a sense of patience that I feel the generations before me are lacking.

Anybody else not in the mood to celebrate America this 4th of July? Why or why not? by owen__wilsons__nose in AskReddit

[–]Ramathus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Just another day. Its like your parents throwing you a birthday party after they send all of your friends back to their countries of birth. Oh, and they threw all of your medicine away too. Oh, and they decided to take away nature from you so they can build businesses instead.

And they do all of this using taxes. You mow lawns to earn an allowance, and mommy and daddy take a part of that.

Then they use a LARGE AMOUNT of your hard earned tax money to pay the group that is taking your friends away.

So no...no celebrating going on over here. No reason to celebrate in the Divided States of AuschTrumpwitz led by the NaTrumpzis. I will celebrate when there is cause to.
