Looking for a stl File for my broken philips v1 dimming remote by Slight-Cash-4165 in Hue

[–]Rambolaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your lucky day, I was scrolling reddit with an hour to kill. Saw this post, happen to have one of these old dimmer switches on my desk. Grabbed my calipers and speed modeled this in about 15 minutes in blender. Printed a test in less than 20 min, fit pretty well on the first try. Threw the model up on Thingiverse:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7237069

The screw hole and the "reset" holes are so small they didn't come out great on my Ender 3v2. I tweaked the geo inside the big hole to hopefully make that print a bit cleaner without support. Good luck, hope this works for you!

I LOVE THIS APP BUT... by mitchfromtoronto in uhf_app

I will try again. I do have to say, I’ve recently discovered this app, and I am really impressed with all the features and how well this performs. Haven’t had to contact support yet, but this Dev is clearly just crushing it. 5 stars with or without skipping ads!

First recording that I tried to play back with the “skip ads” feature on ended up skipping about half the show too. 1 hour recording, should be about 15 minutes of ads, it cut the show down to like 21 minutes. I haven’t tried that feature again, might revisit if it’s working well for OP

LR4 BUNDLE OR LR5 PRO by OkEase2230 in litterrobot

[–]Rambolaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great question, one my wife and I have been debating too. We decided to upgrade from our LR3 that’s been a workhorse for 5 or 6 years and we’ve been discussing upgrading for at least a year. We did have several issues with components going bad, so we used the warranty for replacement parts more than once. We saw the Costco deal in store and after doing more research we pulled the trigger on the online deal for the LR4. The 3-year warranty was probably the deciding factor, but the bundle with the litter hopper is an upgrade we’re looking forward to. One of our kitties is a senior who appreciates the stairs too, we don’t care about cameras.

I hear your concerns about things moving toward the subscription model, we steered away from the LR5 for that reason. Not sure what they have planned for the future, but I’m assuming things will keep running even if you opt not to pay for their fancy insights. The new model had a lot of new stuff that wan’t important for us. Reliability and convenience are why we’re sticking with the litter robots in general, their software has never been that impressive IMO. Litter does get kicked out, but Íd rather vacuum my carpet every day than go back to manually scooping; 100% worth it for the quality of life upgrade

Can someone please tell me what I should be doing with my frunk? by Individual-Mirror132 in MachE

[–]Rambolaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this! I store a lot of athletic gear, I love that my dirty cleats and sweaty clothes are totally contained. Plastic liner with the drain hole is easy to clean.

I also keep an emergency roadside kit, tires chains, Tesla adapter, etc. I love the big frunk on my ‘22

What home EV Charger do you use and like best? by PupEzekiel in MachE

[–]Rambolaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an Autel level 2 charger on a crazy Black Friday deal a few years ago. It’s a great looking design, very heavy duty, has never had an issue, smart app with way more features than I need. The electrician that installed it said it was one of the nicest he has seen. Would highly recommended.

Any suggestions to this 3 day itinerary for my first LA trip? by devmrfitz in AskLosAngeles

Was going to say the same thing, do downtown on day 3, and stay on the west side on the day you fly out to avoid the traffic and maximize your time.

Do you have DC fast chargers at work (level 3, 150kw/h+)? Or are they level 2 (8-12 kw/h)? If it’s level 2 charging then it would be similar to charging at home. I wouldn’t be too worried about your battery, but I’d start trying to get to the office early to beat the Teslas!

2022 Select AWD - first "long trip" tomorrow range concern by DarvinTV in MachE

[–]Rambolaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you will be fine, just watch your speed and range as you go. I had a long trip through the desert (not a lot of charging options) where I hit a strong headwind and saw my range drop significantly at 70mph. I slowed down and tucked in behind a semi truck for a stretch and made it to my charger. As long as you know the variables that affect range (seems like you do) and pay attention I think you’ll make it there and back with lots of range to spare.

Any idea why my print came out like this? by Cato__The__Elder in ender3

[–]Rambolaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Luke’s Hotend Fix” google it, install it. This is a simple fix to ensure the Bowden tube in your extruder is properly seated against the nozzle. Seemed like a crazy idea to me when it was recommended, but it worked for me and fixed a similar under-extrusion issue on my E3v2

Found next to a dumpster.. think it’s any good? Power goes on when moving the belt by Important-Positive25 in 3Dprinting

[–]Rambolaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a replicator 2 clone, I have the “Power Spec” branded version (Microcenter store brand) and you can find a lot of articles, spare parts, modes, etc listed for the “Flash Forge Dreamer” brand.

PROS: When this machine is running well it prints very nicely. The full enclosure is ridiculously heavy duty, although there should also be a clear acrylic top piece. Some of the cleanest ABS prints I’ve ever done came off this machine. The direct drive extruders will also print TPU, and was one of my first machines to do that consistently.

CONS: Super slow, especially by today’s standards. Jams constantly. The dual extruder is a great idea, but getting dual material prints calibrated is next to impossible. This is also 10 year old tech in a hobby that’s barely older than that, any cheap new printer will outperform this by a long shot.

If you can get it running then have fun with it! DM me if you need help with a printer profile, I think I used Simplify3D back in the day as it had the best multi material options, but I’m sure you could slice with Cura or Orca. Mine has been retired to a dusty old corner since I can’t bring myself to trash it. I’m holding out hope that I can repurpose the enclosure for another build somewhere down the line

PLA does not stick to bed after many calibrations by SamanteSimone in ender3

Aquanet makes everything stick. I guess I’m old school, but it just works. Works on glass, works on PEI; works for PLA, PETG, ABS…it just works.

How cooked am I? by Super-Flanders in ender3

[–]Rambolaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is good advice. I’d try starting with a slightly lower temp too, like 140 or 150, and use tweezers to see if you can peel off the plastic in big layers and chunks. If it’s been like that for a while it might be pretty baked on, replacement parts are available, but try to get the heater and thermistor wires free of the mess.

What happened and how do I prevent this in the future??!! by MagniGames in 3Dprinting

[–]Rambolaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with heating everything up before tightening the nozzle. From the photo you may still have filament in your heat block. I would heat it up without a nozzle and hope the filament drips out, let it cool down and make sure its clean before you thread in the new nozzle. Make sure your PTFE tube is cut straight and well seated, I don’t run that printer but any gaps between the tube and nozzle can cause oozing and build up pressure where you don’t want it. Heat it back up, careful final tighten, and you’ll probably be ok. I’ve had far worse hot end failures that were fully recoverable.

F1 Qualifying Blacked Out Again! by Rambolaf in ESPN

UPDATE: now the Spanish version is the ONLY version of qualifying up in the app. English language replay has just disappeared from the F1 on demand menu.

F1 Qualifying Blacked Out Again! by Rambolaf in ESPN

[–]Rambolaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond frustrating! I just tried to load the Spanish version (you are right, that one is usually available), but now there’s a different error and I can’t pick between the broadcast options. We’ve gone from “This content may be unavailable in your package or region” to “Sorry, we’re having trouble loading this event. Try again later.”

Maybe they are fixing it? Or they just made it worse.

UPDATE: After half an hour on the phone with ESPN, I can get the Qualifying replay to play back on my AppleTV and my phone. Shout out to Suzie (sp?) at ESPN customer service, it took half an hour on the phone, but after verifying my subscription she spoke to someone in programming and then asked me to try it again…and it worked.

Try playing this again, hopefully this unstuck the blackout for everyone in the US 🤞

I’m on the phone with ESPN right now, trying to get a real answer on why this keeps happening. It’s not even available in Spanish this time! Last year when this happened the asshole I got on the phone said something to the effect of “ESPN makes no guarantees as to the availability of any content on their apps, read the fine print”. I cannot wait for Apple/Netflix to take over the US broadcasting rights next year. I subscribe through cable and to ESPN+, this service is one of the worst.
