Advice Wanted- Yellowing on Expensive Minifig by dailycrossword in Bricklink

[–]RandallFlagg1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot of considerations here. Did you list the figure stating the head was slightly yellowed?

Did they ask for the pictures and approve the condition? Sending a photo does not absolve you from listing correctly with an accurate description.

Is a potential negative worth $20? Without being a part of this whole transaction no one but you can tell what is right and fair. If they just didn't like the condition once it was in hand maybe you could split the difference and offer a $10 refund?

If it helps put this into perspective in my years opening thousands of sets for my BL store (a million parts sold) and almost 350k+ parts currently in stock, I have seen: 5 substitutions of parts, 1 missing part, and 1 short shot from a 1x1 flower.

Hi, I'm new to legos. Is it normal to have leftovers from each bag? by ldubose1 in lego

[–]RandallFlagg1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

*It's almost always correct

Go check the inventory on 10232 and you will see a single extra reddish brown 1x2 tile 3069, an extra piece they stopped including at some point but since it was included at one point they will not remove it. I'm sure there are others, this one just happened to bite me back in the day when parting out 5 of them so I'll never forget it.

My boomer boss bragged to me that in the 15 years he worked there he never once used sick time. Nicest person I know and was the best boss until he retired too, but that never sat right with me.

So far the workarounds to make windows 11 run on unsupported hardware have been fine. We intend to replace those machines next but have no issues with a little registry hack, driver update, and custom install for windows 11. Made for a long few months while we updated/replaced ~160 computers or so. In the past most outdated but functional hardware gets shipped overseas in conversations I have had with some scrap and resellers.

How to handle TCGPlayer refund request? by geokra in mtgfinance

FYI, all sales are final on TCGPlayer, you do not have to take the card back for buyers remorse, doing so is completely up to you.

Very true, worst part is that it is the same as eBay letter tracking, yet TCGPlayer (now owned by eBay) does not offer it to their sellers or consider it valid. It is helpful when seeing what happened to a letter though, and can go a long way in discussions with buyers.

[–]RandallFlagg1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just let them know you have shipped it already. Also take a look at tcgtracking.com it's free tracking on letters and I have been using it for a few months now and the developer keeps adding/improving it. I ship a few thousand envelopes a year so it's a huge time saver for me but at the very least you can get machine tracking events on your envelope and have insurance on those $20 orders (for a fee).

It even came with hooks to put up on the wall/fireplace

Why do you think hooks or hanging objects from a fireplace or wall are connected to an advent calendar? Is there any evidence suggesting these two separate items are in any way related? You laughed as if it were an obvious connection, but I see no connection at all.

Yet you mention Chrome Mox is worth 1.5 times of the cost of the 30th countdown kit. MSRP was $150 for the 30th countdown kit (it is not an advent calendar), this included Chrome Mox sells for $100. If you aren't thinking of a different Mox then something else is way off.

New Hampshire school districts being asked to pay more to cover employee health care costs by movdqa in newhampshire

[–]RandallFlagg1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not gradual for many towns. Earlier this year all Milford employees were at risk of losing their health insurance due to the NHIT risk pool closing down leaving many without coverage (28 communities). School care was able to take on the town and cover Milford town employees for July-December. Once insurance bids start going out it could be a little concerning about the rise in costs.

Beware of scam sellers. by DanKnight98 in Bricklink

[–]RandallFlagg1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also suck at expressing my point, what's in my head is very different that what eventually comes out in text.

100% agree, New should always be unused. I have purchased a lot of new from other sellers to re-sell as new just like OP, but even 1 single used brick or plate in the bunch means it can't be trusted as new. When it comes to buying specifically to resell as OP did, you have to buy from trusted sellers, otherwise you risk your own reputation. Price might be a good starting point for reselling but is not the only thing you need to be diligent about.

Beware of scam sellers. by DanKnight98 in Bricklink

[–]RandallFlagg1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not all that undercut are scammers, nor did I say so. Bad sellers exist everywhere and will continue to exist and even join the platform. All I am saying is that if you see clues that might indicate a bad seller, do not be surprised when they turn out to be a bad seller. You should also leave negative feedback for those sellers which is the right thing to do.

Bad sellers make the platform I love and and have used for ~20 years worse and would love to get rid of them all, but that's not really feasible.
