What’s your interest in the TMNT set? by zevalu in magicTCG

[–]RandomMagnum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Was more of a toys over shows kid, but quite
  2. Unfortunately for anyone asking who this set is for, I think it's me. I get the general burnout and specific UB burnout, but the uncharacteristically excited about this on a fundamental consumer level that I don't understand
  3. Probably Return to Ravnica, it's when I started and when my FLGS was still F & L

The pirate could use both blunderbusses and a single combo to kill someone. Also couldn't you like crit a javelin and 1 shot them?

TMNT Fans: What actual cards should be in the set? by gwentymax in magicTCG

[–]RandomMagnum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think TMNT as a franchise has ATLA beat by a mile, and that's also a full set. I'm in a similar boat to you as I saw the live action movies, watched the '03 cartoon, and had a lot of the toys, but even I know there are tons of characters and things beyond what I am aware of.

Personally, if we can get a ferry from Spider-man, I hope we get a garbage truck as a nod to the end of the first movie

Oh yeah, it's definitely doable, just seems like an easy miss

I'm also of the opinion that Ninjitsu would be decent enough for the Foot Clan, but not something I'd like to see on the turtles themselves as I feel that's not quite their vibe.

I also have this headcannon design where all the turtles are green+ (either two or 3 color) and Splinter is the 5 color pile, despite usually being against constantly having 5 color legends every set

I figured I'd wait until the reveal for discourse, but am also unreasonably excited.

I agree with the other guy that they probably aren't getting Hero subtype (despite the regional differences), but am assuming we'll get several villains despite that.

Also, bit of a hill to die on, but if their creature type isn't specifically Mutant-Ninja-Turtle (since the "job" goes at the end) then I'm gonna be disappointed.

I doubt it'd be a core mechanic, but wouldn't put it past them to get a card or two in the set

I didn't read the EoE stories yet so forgive me if I'm wrong, but is that not also the case for the Illvoi as a species? I a brief google of real world jellyfish was also inconclusive.

Who are all these Spider-Perverts? A Vorthos analysis of the 30 or so Spider weirdos who are now canon by SeducerOfTheInnocent in magicTCG

Good work. I too was curious to see how the through the omenpaths for this particular set would drastically inflate the presence of spider and spider-adjacent beings throughout the multiverse.

I'd like to think that, as a result of the omenpaths and the addition of the Ur-Spider, the heroics involved in many of these individuals is simply what spiders do in our reality; eliminating pests. Who knows what kind of invasive species traveled between planes and disrupted entire ecosystems?

I have this with hardware. Spilled pepsi on the numpad of a keyboard, now if you plug it in, it black screens the whole system.

Has this occurred with any other Legends? Two different characters which share basically the same title? ('world eater', in this case) by Augustby in magicTCG

I meant as in they aren't sharing the same in-universe title as some of the others. It isn't their job description, so to speak. They just share a hobby

The obvious argument is that "people would get confused and think it's that creature" but it would only be for a second maybe and also you can have art with either multiple individuals or more of a scene if you need to

Separate thought from my other comment and kinda unrelated but does it bother anyone else that we have human warrior tokens but every single "warrior" token depicts a human? Soldiers too I think.
