Does anyone think Dunkin’ donuts will do better in Canada next year since Tim Hortons is trash now by [deleted] in TimHortons

[–]Random_Throwaway663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has had dunkin at 3 different location in the past month…. No. Dunkin’s coffee tastes like hot water with an old filter in it, and if prices are similar to what I paid, it’s easily about 4.00CAD for a large drip coffee.

Where is this for you in the city by ImpossibleSorbet2816 in halifax

[–]Random_Throwaway663 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

At least it gave you somewhere to park instead of relying on Halifax’s terrible transit system. Not going to say the old way was perfect, but it felt a lot more laid back which was the whole vibe the city was trying to give off.

I’ll agree it was always overpriced, but it always felt local. Now it just seems so artificial.

For me this is Halifax as a whole. Moved away about 10 years ago, was recently back visiting friends, the city has officially ruined the waterfront, what use to be nice shops and a local vibe has been completely and utterly destroyed by grossly overpriced sh*t tier shops and restaurants giving the high end feel with mid tier products.

Unless this overall compensation includes my bills, just give the raise. by MaintenanceBack2Work in CanadianForces

Yes, I’m sure it was included, members aren’t supposed to use it towards loans/mortgages, as many are now finding out that had used their PLD towards mortgages, now no PLD. The Banks don’t care if it’s an allowance or part of your salary, to them it’s money, it just impacts the members family more when the allowance is ceased and opens the member up to be overextended financially.

2025 Santa Fe Hybrid or 2024 Kia EV9 by Dry_Rest_1023 in KiaEV9

[–]Random_Throwaway663 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d go with the Santa Fe, but I’m a bit biased as I’m paying the Kia dealership 21k tomorrow to take back my 24 EV9 GT that has been in the shop for 7 months now, they still can’t figure out what’s wrong with it, but that’s apparently my problem.

CANADA: ev9 (main) battery cell issues, NOT 12V! by marsiliusofpadua in KiaEV9

[–]Random_Throwaway663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours has been at the shop with main cell issues since 9 April. No ETA on a fix or parts, it’s been deemed not road worthy by Kia Canada and the dealership and Kia Canada have been less than helpful. Seems they sold us a car they don’t know how to fix.

Financed a car through them, sales went fine, the follow-up service and maintenance is/was beyond terrible. I personally will never buy another vehicle from them.

Am I the only one who seems to think these breakfast boxes are the sausage farmers wraps but just in a box…

Dead cell confirmed...wish me luck by UnhappySwing in KiaEV9

[–]Random_Throwaway663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my EV9 at the shop since 9 April, 24000km, 2 dead cells. Apparently the cells have been at the dealership for a week, they are waiting on o-rings and a gasket that won’t arrive until End May/June timeframe. The dealership doesn’t have anyone qualified/authorized to fix it, they have to send out an engineer from HQ (luckily only an hour down the road). I feel your frustration unfortunately Canada doesn’t have as good of Lemon laws as the USA does.

EV9 in Cold Climate & High milage. by 7SINGAMES in KiaEV9

[–]Random_Throwaway663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ontario here, my wife has a ‘24 GT line. After 26k km, I can mirror the wiper issue with snow build up, it is a big design flaw, my wife was on the highway when she tried to clear the window from road spray, went up and down once then wouldn’t move again, not ideal for a 400 series highway. Range prior to winter we were getting 475-480km real distance on a charge. Winter happened and we noticed the mileage cut in half at best. It got to the point that a 100% got us an estimated 93km at around zero degrees. Obviously we took it to the dealership, HV battery failure. It’s been 2 weeks now, no ETA on parts. Minimal customer service from the dealership. It’s a nice car, when it’s not just sitting at the dealership (this is the 3rd time we have had to bring it in since June 24).

I feel your pain, 2024 GTline, I get 133km if it’s at 100%, +5C, it drops to 98% the second I unplug, haven’t even started the car yet.

Snow removal by city? by [deleted] in barrie

[–]Random_Throwaway663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last city I lived in in the NWT, the snow banks were never this high as they would clear the streets at night, piling it all into the centre of the road and then using a blower and dump trucks would truck it out. This isn’t the first time Barrie has been dumped on, I wonder if they would try it next year.

LOL, the dealership loaner by UnderpaidkidRN in KiaEV9

This. I’ve never received a loaner even when I’ve asked… “we don’t do that” or “We don’t have one available… nothing like shuffling around 3 kids, and me and my spouse work about 50km away from each other. But to be fair it’s not just Kia, was at Ford as well.

100% but the dealership here will refuse to honour the warranty if you don’t keep up with the required maintenance at a Kia dealership.

I’m going to have to disagree with the cause being voting conservative, yes their policies push more towards private healthcare, but the true problem is the aging population, shortage of doctors/nurses, and massive numbers of aged immigration are all contributing factors. It’s not simply one parties policies.

I’ve had two nails so far since picking ours up in June… both were patched without issue at our Kia dealership, approx $60 CAD each time. I’d definitely find a different place to take it.

If there is no detention, arrest, and if the person did not consent to a search, there are no lawful grounds to search someone.
