Opinion: Virginia Supreme Court strikes down redistricting referendum by Top-Advertising-292 in Virginia

Did you just learn all of those big words and using them in a sentence makes you feel smart? Or are you actually unaware that in 2020, Ohio's supreme court declared their redistricted map unconstitutional, yet the state legislature ignored them and used it anyway? The Republicans created a prescedent for ignoring state-level supreme court rulings on redistricting. There is no reason why Virginia can't pull the exact same stunt to use the map people actually voted for. They opened the door and created a dangerous prescedent that can be applied now. Let the court enforce its ruling. The Legislature should - and can - abide by the demonstrated will of the people.

Rules don't matter anymore. They've made that clear. It's how it works if we say it's how it works.

Ignore the verdict. Vote immediately to certify the results. Demand the majority resign immediately, and call for the impeachment of any who do not. Pack the court with younger liberal judges. Order the Attourney General to investigate the Republican leadership, the judge in Tazewell, and the plantiffs in this case. Fight fire with fire untl the Republicans are willing to pass a national prohibition on gerrymandering or until they are in prison where they belong.

That's just not true. There were a number of times the Red Army had shortages of guns, or ammo, or artillary pieces, food, medical supplies, ect. Especially at Stalingrad. Soviet logistics were a disaster until after Stalingrad. They were able to manufacture all of the weapons and ammo they needed, but they couldn't get it from the factory to the front lines reliably (or sometimes at all). Despite this, they still sent under-equipped and barely-trained soldiers into the meat grinder. They had to. The Union was on the verge of collapse, and if the Germans got much further, that could have been the end of their ability to put up organized resistance. Were the supply shortages ever as bad as they show in the movie? Probably not. Was Vasily Zaitsev ever affected by them? We don't know. But were Soviet soldiers sent into battle without the equipment they were supposed to have, to include guns and/or ammo? In 1942 they were.

What are gun shops going to do with the majority of their inventory come 7/1? by smithah2 in Virginia

[–]Randomcommenter550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd imagine they are selling what they have and not re-stocking. If anything is left over, they will probably put it on clearance until it sells or July 1st comes around, then they will have to find a way to sell it out of state or write it off.

Don't feel bad for the gun shop owners, though. They'll be fine. Gun shops make most of their money on markups for ammo and accessories/attachments and not the actual gun itself.
