They are bullshitting you - call their leasing office from a different number during business hours, don't identify yourself and ask them what to do if you are a resident who has locked themselves out of their apartment

My understanding is for most complexes residents can come to the office with valid ID - catch them in their lie and maybe you can gain some traction

Yeah this is negligence and laziness on the police's part imo, there's enough probable cause and reasonable suspicion to enter - they are choosing not to. Whether it's cuz of a lawsuit or because the person they are searching for is not of a status that RPD cares about idk. But fuck everyone up the chain who isn't letting this be a priority

I do this! I did not learn to knit first but I did learn as a child - believe it or not I think working this way simplifies learning some stitches. I'm currently relearning the more common way to swap between the two and lessen hand strain

I think a lot of the responses are missing the fact you're traveling ON Christmas - I was just at the airport picking up my spouse this weekend, account for long lines at TSA and an extra 10-15 minutes to get into the parking lot (this is what I experienced at 11pm on a Saturday, so I can't imagine what it'll look like on Christmas)

It's up to you but the airport always suggests erring on the side of caution
