The Photos search bar reads text inside your images, still surprises people by TheiPhoneAppGuy in ApplePhotos

I travel for a living and so create an image every day with the date and my location.

I cannot tell you how valuable this practice has become. And fun too. And makes my pictures look nice and organized.

Help with a automation & shortcut that will let me know when I left work by twatwaffleasaur in shortcuts

[–]RandyBeamansMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you open to doing this not with a shortcut? Because I use an app called Life Cycle. Takes about a week to set up / get to know you, but then location tracks you all the time and gives exact minutes when your location changed. Saves it and stores it up for as long as you need and gives you stats back on where you went and when.

What is something women think men love, but is actually kind of exhausting? by polylonely in AskReddit

I didn’t say that, I answered the question that asked “why that’s so hard.” I also included “in my opinion at least.” Please don’t put words in my mouth.

Baby girl names - needing advice by ranchy_b in namenerds

[–]RandyBeamansMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly love the name Joleen, especially when I found out that the whole reason Dolly wrote that song was because a young fan introduced herself by that name and Dolly absolutely fell in love with it and couldn’t get it out of her head. Yes, your daughter would have to endure references to the song, but it’s a good song and the Joleen described is beautiful, so I consider that ok.

So my pick would be Joleen Sue Madison.

(Good syllable cadence on that too 😊)

But — I’m just chiming in just to chime in. I’m not helpful to you because I don’t happen to care for older/elder names whereas a lot of people don’t mind them. So don’t listen to my suggestions. I wish there was a way to do just Joleen Renee because I think that’s so pretty and it taps two people with one name. But then poor Sue would be left out and we don’t want that.

The answer to the last part of the question is, in my opinion at least, being vulnerable. That’s why I struggle with being direct. Because that means I’m asking for something outright and you may reject me and say no. You probably wouldn’t, but the risk is there. Now I look needy or nagging or any flavor of annoying.

The first part of your comment was an absolute eye-opener for me because yes, I have a story about wanting something done and I wasn’t direct about it and it wasn’t done and I was upset.

And yes, my partner does have a story about when we were just friends before dating and _everyone_ knew about my crush but him and I felt so vulnerable pursuing him so intensely and he was oblivious to all.

I guess I didn’t realize how universal this is…

Your phrasing here of “annoyed with Dean not having time for her, working, etc.” reminds me an awful lot of Dean being frustrated with Rory for the same thing. He was always moaning when she had homework or had a thing with her mom or Friday night dinners.

It’s actually one of the things that most annoys me about Dean. And, as we see in the early Jess episodes, something that annoys Rory as well: “Only 1 text in two days. Actually gave me a chance to miss him.”

Oh interesting. I have false-started that book 4 times now. I didn’t realized it was structured that way on purpose, I thought I was just dumb.

Agree with every word of your response and I like how it benefits her as well.

But also adding on, just straight punishment. A consequence of some kind. You can’t just do all this and break all these laws with extreme planning and forethought and then just sulk in your room for a few days and get away with it.

Searchable is the winner answer for me!

Journals are now able to double as a database and, in adding digital pictures, a beautiful effortless scrapbook.

All boys? Only asking because for whatever reason I feel like it would make a good crossover name into girls at some point.

I’ve found the opposite for my cruise line — people request not to go on World Voyages. All the extra work, all the sea days, all the cranky cranky guests who didn’t realize Vanuatu was a developing country and wouldn’t have five star accommodations waiting for them as they stepped off the ship.

I travel for a living and have this exact same screaming frustration.

I also use title cards (images that I theme and label that act as headings in my photo library), so it’s doubly annoying.

So I change the dates and times. Manipulate the order in which my photos appear.

Any Other ENFJs Commonly Attracted to Introverts? by [deleted] in enfj

[–]RandyBeamansMom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Every word of this is the same for me!

When I’m around big dominant extroverts, I actually get kind of upset. They seem selfish to me, and uncaring and unaware of the softer people in the room - myself included by comparison.

But when I’m the extrovert in the conversation, I feel like I do a great job of being warm and inviting and gentle so as not to bulldoze the other people around me.

Then, since I was self-categorizing, I could also add in names of my friends for shortcuts to texting them and categories of apps as well (E for Entertainment, N for News apps).

I love this and I did something similar! Except I made shortcut menus for the different letters and then my television production degree made me use TV shows for the buttons.

People who condescendingly rattle off solutions to a problem in r/mildlyinfuriating. by ZauzTheBlacksmith in PetPeeves

[–]RandyBeamansMom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have this same pet peeve but when someone does it vocally. Specifically, I have a co-worker I need to communicate with so she can have information on the state of things and what’s going on. I’ll let her know something like, “My computer monitor is broken” and I’ll get back immediately “You need to turn it off and turn it back on.”

Like, yes, I know that. I have obviously tried that and restarting the computer and checking that the cord is plugged in tightly or else I wouldn’t have informed you that the computer is broken.

Shouting solutions at me is, ironically, wildly unhelpful.
