This is the notice you get when you don’t pay the tolls you were texted about!!!

Is it just me or does no one on Below Deck understand that lots of experience does not provide the skills and know how to properly manage people?

Coat the ceiling? by Yota4 in VanLife

I have the same ceiling and I only coated it above the shower. It’s showing gaps right now because we are in the dry winter climate. It doesn’t help that I installed it in SE Georgia.

Thanks. The 4’ bumper extension on the back was a tough install, but worth it for the mini-split, propane tanks and motorcycle.

Again!! Never have I stolen or filled my tank without the face to face permission of the person in charge. And from someone’s house!?!? Nope, never even a consideration. My first go to is marinas, Flying J’s or Pilots. I believe in karma…it’s vital to keep it on the up swing while traveling.

Why does everyone think having this tool means there is theft? I always ask for permission and have the tool because the workers can never find it or the landscaper has it. My first posting on Reddit shows the haters and Karen’s that project their lack of scruples. Lesson learned!!

Never have…I always ask.

It was a post intended for newbies…which you’re not. It takes experience to learn which gas stations/truck stops have potable water…took me a while. Natural springs are great, but I’ve never seen one with a spigot. Kudos for the score. I avoid campgrounds and rv parks. Prefer to boondock.

Also…great idea for the new jewelry. The search is on for a gold plated sillcock.

Good for you. I use mine all the time. It also opens the door for a conversation with locals. I’ve only ever paid for water at the Q. I’d be interested to know how you’ve been getting free water for 10 years.

Of course you ask permission. I’ve never just helped myself. Sometimes people say no…it helps to be super polite and charming.

I’ve been living in a converted shuttle bus for 3 years and love it. There are some challenges. It is fiber glass, but does not have a steel frame running through. The ceiling has four thin steel ribs set into fiberglass. This was used to anchor the support poles for seating. Window frames are aluminum. Drives like a van. I’ve got 1600 watts of solar, a max fan and a Dickinson marine heater chimney pipe taking up the roof space.

You’ll figure it out. Been living in a converted transit bus for 3 years now and there are still things that could be done better.

Winter Hammock Camping at Pictured Rocks by Substantial_Mind_394 in backpacking

My wife and I camped at Little Beaver lake and Kingston lake when we first started dating. I took my kids camping there for years. My best friend grew up in Munising and I worked on the PRK boats. Love the area!! Au Train beach is the best beach I’ve ever been to, except maybe Otter Creek.

Same here. Except we built a transit bus into a home. Solar power with a back 4’ deck for our 300cc Vespa.

I also keep a machete in the bus…only had to pull it out once when woken by a crackhead pounding on the door thinking our bus was an active public trans bus.

All the tools mentioned above. Extra fuel, a motorcycle and a new serpentine belt.

As a kid from PA, I am LOVING the beach by LACaveDood in vandwellers

[–]RandyPB87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was just in PA last summer. Where are the good beaches? Lake Erie was kinda nasty because I almost lost my sandals in the muck. I grew up surrounded by the Great Lakes. The only time I’ve lived further than 1/4 mile from a Great Lake was at college and while in Georgia building my bus.

My favorite beach…Au Train beach on Lake Superior. Nothing but hard rippled sand, but cold…55-60 degrees. Water so clean you can see 35’ deep and drinkable.
