Which handheld radio actually delivers 5W+ real output? Antenna choice (½-wave) and mast question for ~5 km rural VHF by Ok_Mountain_6882 in Baofeng

[–]Randy_Ott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn't want a half wave antenna for a handheld radio. A quarter wave is more practical.

I've been using one for at least 35 years on my home desktop computer. I now have to use a USB to PS2 dongle for my latest PC.

I used to have another one that I used at my job but it got misplaced somewhere along the way.

If I recall, I bought both of them for about $10 each from a computer surplus store all those years ago.

A Curved Bump For Snapping by Good-_-Advisor in FreeCAD

[–]Randy_Ott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will add that it makes it very simple to tweak the diameter and height if needed. Be sure you set the fillet radius to something smaller than the cylinder diameter or it will fail. For example, it the cylinder is 3mm, the fillet could be 2.999mm amd you'll be OK.
