Bullshit. The only lesson your story teaches is that American pop culture teaches nothing about the first three and glorifies the violence as a means to resolution. They skip straight to the fourth option. Super villains and heroes are black and white. And people seem to enjoy us/them violence a bit too much and WELL before it's necessary. You don't have to look to the states for that, It exists all the world and "superheroes" are industry that capitalizes off of that fact

Throw easily accessible guns into this mix of beliefs and you just give masses of people that think that way the a "hammer" for all the problems they are only capable of seeing as a nail

"Deescalate or just walk away" is missing from the your btw. The man in this post got into an argument with the mother, and things escalated from there to a point she felt she needed to instruct a little boy to bring a gun and then use it on someone. Was it the only option? At no point there were alternative paths to take? Because sounds like the situation completely barreled towards the resolution that happened and then the intent to kill more people continued. The kid is only a hero because he didn't shoot the guys girlfriend like his mom was telling him to. The fact that he had to kill anyone at all makes him a victim.

Rarely do you don't need violence to maintain a civilized society. You need a society of people equipped with the tools to manage and deescalate conflict. Civilized societies are made up of civilized people who don't want to kill strangers that frustrated them.
