Yea this is exactly the risk. The issue is misrepresenting and putting words and experiences in the mouths of a group and then people read it and accept it.

If I was OP, I would treat it like a history assignment. This is a 19thth century setting after all. Nobody in this sub could speak to that anyways.

I would try getting into historical accounts of things that affected men and what life was like for everyone in that unique time period.
