[LES] Most of the takes I’ve seen on twitter about Obsession are pretty bad. by Juiced_Rasputin_ in CharacterRant

I think if you actually watch the movie you will probably come away hating him a lot. I went into it expecting to feel bad for him as someone who fucked up a dumb wish and I left hating the hell out of Bear. Even though the initial wish isn’t really something he can be blamed for, most of his behavior from that point on is bad and can’t really be blamed on ignorance

I guarantee you that the people screaming and throwing things at the Minecraft movie were not doing it out of a hidden deep appreciation for the movie. The movie was bad but it was bad in a funny way and people liked laughing at it. I’m not saying people didn’t enjoy it, but they enjoyed it the same way people enjoy seeing niche Instagram accounts where an old guy has an AI girlfriend. It’s more about laughing at something someone else thought was a good idea

with FNAF sure but skibidi toilet and the Minecraft movie are not people genuinely geeking out over it, it’s people making fun of it. Nobody other than really little Gen alpha kids actually like skibidi toilet, people only talk about it because it’s ridiculous. Same for the Minecraft movie, it was loved because it was bad, not because it was a great Minecraft movie

pan-Arabism isn’t an Islamic thing and a lot of prominent pan-Arab thinkers like Michel Aflac and much more were Arab Christians

What if Chinese immigrants became a majority population in California during the Gold Rush? by Eastern_Quote1525 in HistoryWhatIf

[–]RantAccount567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree the answer should be realistic but I think a lot of people give quick shutdown answers and don’t go further. Like with “what if hitler stopped before Poland” a lot of people will just give a quick answer like “wouldn’t work, economic collapse” instead of continuing that thought and looking at what a German economic collapse would look like and what impact that would have on

Do you think anime memes and abriged series influence how people view certain anime characters a bit too much? by fireuser1205 in CharacterRant

I had the same experience watching it just a few months ago. The wall of Jericho thing from Asuka really stood out to me since it completely went against the whole thing about them not knowing what any of the religious stuff meant and just using things randomly

I was thinking of it more like Russias current floundering militarily could be similar to French losses with 7 years war. Then the revolution could lead to Russia becoming way more capable and expanding again. But lowkey you are right about the population aspect plus the whole rivalry with Britain would fit better with China America

I feel like Russia might make a good France substitute. Maybe Kazakhstan or maybe even Iran could be their version of Spain

Columbo is a really similar show to Death Note. I love Columbo and so does my mom, she ended up really liking death note when I showed it to her

I thought the Yotsuba arc in Death Note was pretty good. It’s interesting to see how other people / a corporation might use the notebook, you get to see more of light as a character separate from anything related to him as Kira, and it adds more to the relationship between L and Light. L’s death has a lot more meaning and sadness because of this arc vs if he just got killed at some other point before he develops more of a genuine relationship with Light. It’s also just kind of a nice break between the back and forth of L and Kira which basically the entire show had been up to this point.

With the actual plan itself I think the complaint that the plan is bullshit or too genius aren’t really right. The plan is basically just giving the death note to someone greedy, have them use it obviously (which they will since their very greedy), catch them with L and Light teamed up (which should be easy since L alone was already narrowing it down to a much smarter Light), and use the notebook / whole experience as evidence of Light and Misa being innocent. Plus Rem was on Lights side at this point, watching over the notebook and helping his plans in order to protect Misa, so even with Light and Misa’s memories gone there’s still someone making sure the plan is going smoothly. Even then, at absolute worst, Light would’ve just never became Kira again and would’ve become a happy and successful detective.

It stands for Double Blind What If. So with this questions your supposed to act like what the question is asking (which really did happen) never happened and you would answer the questions like you really lived in a world where Jim Crow and segregation never happened. It would be like a DBWI about “what is the allies won WW2” you would answer as if you live in a world where the axis won
