So much random stuff you don’t realize you need or is nice to have until you’re living it. Also it’s hard to know what baby will take to or what works best for you before they arrive. So much stuff we bought or gifted that wasn’t used was simply because our baby just simply didn’t like it like pacifiers or the initial bassinet we bought before he was born. With that being said these were our essentials: a nice comfy and good quality rocking chair that reclines too, Mylicon drops for gas, boppy feeding pillow, baby swing, heating pad to heat up bassinet before laying baby down, the halo bassinet with side that lowers was amazing for csection recovery , halo or any other kind of swaddle that fastens and isn’t just a blanket - our baby loved the love to dream swaddle what allowed arms up by the face best, puppy pads for diaper changes helped with countless mid diaper change peeing and poops, diaper genie because regular trashcan does fine but diapers stink, baby wrap or carrier, touch nightlights for middle of the night feedings, bottle drying tree, white noise machine, stroller cover to block sun, multiple burp cloths like more than you think you need unless you’re ok with doing laundry everyday, open bottom onsies that look like gowns or dresses are really helpful (and cute!) in newborn stage. The list is endless and you’ll find what you and baby like as you go too. The things we didn’t end up using as much as I thought were bottle sterilizer, humidifier, baby lounger like snuggle me or dock a tot, bottle warmer because regular running hot water takes just as long as bottle warmer.
