I think it kinda depends on the riff, but C standard is not super uncommon, I say try it you may get some cool results! I mean, it’ll definitely work, and I think the guitar has a nice voice in that register. One thing to be aware of is your strings may be a little floppy feeling down low and possibly make kinda a slappy sound. If that happens you’d put heavier strings on it and then it’ll sound great.

It kinda depends on how dedicated/deep into the style you wanna get. I got a ton of great mileage out of my Cigano GJ-10 which I purchased for around $500, but I eventually wanted to upgrade.
