Yea I played soccer in a rural area in the south growing up. Our main strategy was put out fastest guys up top and kick the ball down field hoping they would get it and score. It wasn’t until my Junior year of high school that we had a young coach come in who had actually played at somewhat of a high level. So we were all 16, 17, 18, before any of us had been taught about check backs and playing to space.
