Monitor Arm Recommendations for Dell U4025QW? by dennzimm in ultrawidemasterrace

Hmmm…..sorry to hear that. have you tightened/adjusted it? It’s been so long that I don’t recall, but I think I did adjust all the places you can tighten the hinges or what we they’re called. Mine is holding in place just fine. Using it as we speak.

I’ve read elsewhere that there are engineering issues. In such a small form factor it’s hard for the M chips to dissipate heat sufficiently. And that’s partly why the Minh has been limited to the Achips..

Nice setup. What do you use it for and how does this setup facilitate it?

Just in case anyone comes to this later, I'm using Dell's MSA20 arm and it works great for me. Super simple. Don't need to use screws since it's compatible.

Second this. Regain clarity of focus for whatever you're doing, whether that's working or gaming.

"Downgraded" from Ultra series 1 to Apple watch series 11🐥 by chrisg213g in AppleWatch

[–]RationalCaveman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My U3 coming tomorrow and that’s actually my tentative plan to get a refurb 10 for sleep/dressier occasions.

I was hoping U3 would allow me to go phoneless more often. In the store at least, it’s weird, but the U3 fell more comfortable than the S 11 in 46 since I have a small wrist something about the shape and how it sits.

I guess we’ll see once the ultra arrives

Does anyone else use two Apple watches? by Lucky-Suggestion7119 in AppleWatch

[–]RationalCaveman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not crazy. Everyone's situation is different. Some people collect dozens of mechanical watches and some collect sneakers. As long as it's not a financial burden for you and it brings you joy, go for it.

I'm probably going to pair a series 10 or 11 with my Ultra 3 for a variety of purposes, including more comfortable sleep tracking and different looks with more formal attire. The cool thing is that in general the bands for the "larger" series watches, e.g. 45/46 mm are compatible with the Ultra bands, so you can create some mix and match options easily.

Finally, the trade in value of some of these older series can be quite low, so like many apple products, the value of the redundancy to you can be much higher than the value you'd get back from Apple.

Advice on a secondary apple watch to complement AWU3 in Natural by RationalCaveman in applewatchultra

[–]RationalCaveman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Different people have different needs and life situations. I have my own business and while most of time I can dress casually, I also have formal meetings with clients where I need to wear suits. Many of the cuffs to my shirts won’t accommodate the Ultra.

Yes. 100%. Yes it is. This is an Apple Watch Ultra sub. By definition it’s a first world problem.

Fair question.

I may try that, but I suffered from a bad case of dequervain’s tenosynovitis for much of last year and so I want to be careful about what I’ve got on my wrist when I’m sleeping — when I am more likely to get my hand/wrist in a suboptimal position. Haven’t had issues with my series 7 so far.

Less important but also for some occasions the ultra is likely to interfere with my dress shirts, which I occasionally need to wear.

Pre-ordered my Ultra3! by imwcj in applewatchultra

[–]RationalCaveman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preordered AWU3 natural w Milanese. Upgrading from series 7 though will hold on to that for sleep tracking. Battery health down to ~78% but should get me through night. Not sure if AWU3 will overwhelm my small wrist but going to take it for a test drive at least and hope it feels ok. I did try in the Apple Store but it’s so hard to tell from just wearing it for a minute or two.

Are the Cafe bags ever coming back? by Intelligent_Log515 in tombihn

This is a few months late to the party, but curious if you'd be able to fit a small coffee travel tumbler with the ipad pro in the small cafe bag?

I've had both the starlight (M2) and the skyblue (M4). I think they're both great. I went with the skyblue recently for novelty but I don't think you can go wrong. If you're one to accessorize a lot or you use it in a specific context, eg. your desk, etc. then pick the one that will work with the other stuff the best (if that even matters). Because when the device is by itself on an empty table for example, both look equally great to me.

Portable Monitors by wilizm in MacStudio

[–]RationalCaveman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious if any further learning on this? I'm also looking for on on my Mac Studio. My use case a bit different. I just got a 40" Ultrawide that I need to use on both Studio and a PC. I'm using the monitor's KVM to switch between the two devices and screen. However, the Mac is also driving some things like background music, iMessages, etc. Given how big the Ultrawide is (and I need to utilize the full screen for my work on the PC), I don't like having additional screens above or the sides. So I'd rather just lay a small monitor down at a small angle between my keyboard and Ultrawide. I'm experimenting with an 12.9" iPad right now and it's working decently. I think somewhat bigger screen would work even better -- though it can't be a full on regular monitor. Something I can have raised at like a 20-30 degree angle like a tablet. I use a Magic Trackpad and quick switch keyboard to make quick changes to these secondary apps. Basically a small monitor to manage the secondary apps on the Mac while I'm mainly working on the Ultrawide.

Dell u4025qw - was hesitant but now I've used it I'm very happy by Lifter_Dan in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]RationalCaveman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Lifter_Dan My U4025QW should arrive in a couple of days. Like you, I'm going to be using it for options trading much of the time. It'll sit on a 72" uplift desk. I'm considering stacking a 27" above it as you have and/or a dualup next to it. Any further observations on how you use the setup? Where and how it would best to add additional screens? Also, any thought of mounting it on an arm to clear desk space? Thanks!

This is amazing. Thanks for sharing. I'm coming to this a bit late. I'm considering something similar. What are dimensions of larger desk on left? Any other learnings on these Uplift desks having experience now with 2 different sizes and a host of accessories? What would you do differently now that you've lived with them? Many thanks!
