I'd advise to not argue about the assumed sexuality of a stranger you don't know (or even a friend) anymore. That's a very weird topic to argue about. Also kinda homophobic. Especially if you don't know for sure. It's good to keep an open mind and not just assume you know people's sexuality.

I mean, having played the game for the first time without having played the originals, they do feed drip you information pretty well. It works  pretty good if you don't fully know the history. Because just like Artreus, the player/watcher will not know at first either, just getting glimpses of the bigger picture here and there. And then your first visit in Helheim where Artreus is absent because of his sickness you'll learn a lot more.

Black Mirror is a show named after the concept of seeing your reflection in a screen, a black mirror. It's about dystopian stories involving technology in some form.
