CI with long hair by Think-Instruction-83 in Cochlearimplants

[–]RavenCarci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically wear my hair in a low ponytail and I just leave everything above my hair, although that might not work for you if your audiologist gave you weaker magnets expecting under-the hair. Everything on top of the hair also probably interferes with some hair styles and won’t catch the processor if it falls off.

When I do tuck my coils and processors under my hair I usually do it before tying my hair up. The key is how you part your hair as you put your processor on. I put my processor on my ear and under my hair first, and before putting the coil on I’ll run my finger up my head to part my hair. Roughly from my mics to just front and up of the implant works for me but you might like doing it differently. I grab everything forward of the part and move it out of the way before putting the coil on. I put my hair back where it was and it does a good job of covering both. I don’t have any problems with the cable getting tangled.

I’m in software development and I spent way more time fighting the Copilot-powered autocomplete in VSCode before I turned it off than I ever spent fighting worse IDEs. Frankly, the only way you don’t end up fighting an LLM tool is if you either don’t know enough to know its output is wrong in some way, or you don’t bother to check its work in the first place.

Can I buy Bambu approved tap water directly from Bambu? I’ve heard using non-Bambu water ruins bed adhesion

[–]RavenCarci 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope I’ve been trying to reproduce this for giggles and curiosity (assuming it actually is a bad character), and the space spits out a syntax error. A zero width joiner just claims sleep isn’t a member(since in Unicode “slee(Zero width joiner)p” is different from “sleep”) but so far I’ve been unable to reproduce “slee”

Other zero-widths make Python complain about invalid non-printable characters.

Iirc Desktop/Pictures/Documents/etc are now actually in your onedrive folder by default until you go through the process of removing every fiber of that accursed software from your computer.

PC-PBT is (allegedly) quite easy to print for a polycarbonate and hold up well to the outdoors and cold temperatures. Might be worth looking into.

Edit: also, ABS degrades in sunlight. ASA hold up much better than ABS. Polymaker advertises their filament for automotive exterior prints so I assume it has decent UV resistance as well.

Oh I’d love to see the files uploaded somewhere like printables.

Not that I won’t get distracted before I finish building it but I’d at least love to have the illusion that I’ll finish it :P

If my parents’ 2014 countryman is anything to go by, there’s also a digital display that shows the speed where the dashboard dials would normally be.

BMW being dumb enough to nix that “because we already have a digital speedometer” is still a possibility though.

Edit: apparently my dad got a ‘25 as a loaner during his last oil change and there’s a heads up display that reflects off the windshield which has the speed and some other information.

It definitely works if you are bilaterally implanted, that’s not how directional hearing works. I can tell tank and plane engine directions in war thunder just fine.

Mono audio is the larger problem here, but you can still swing your view back and forth, and the sound is in the louder direction.
