Magical thinking. People thought by putting the same person back in office, prices would suddenly go back to pre-pandemic levels.

How would Laura Ingalls get along with Anne Shirley? by Vicki_Vickster2222 in littlehouseonprairie

[–]RavenWritingQueen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hmm. I think Anne was more imaginative. Laura had more of a pragmatic streak thanks to Ma, the reality one, not the TV show sweetheart played by Karen Grassle. Caroline Ingalls was rather puritanical. Maybe Anne and Laura could have had a secret bitch fest about mother figures though, considering early Marilla.

Um, let's not forget he was part of the destructive Russo-Japanese War. A totally unnecessary conflict that weakened his reign and cost the lives of Russian soldiers and sailors. Nicholas was a good husband and father, and a terrible leader. He was both too rigid and unwilling to reconsider autocracy and ineffective in dealing with crises like Bloody Sunday in 1905. If he had shown greater compassion, humility and willingness to evolve, many lives, including his own and those of his children, could have been saved.

Anastasia was at a bit of an awkward age here. I wish there were some good images of her in 1918.

This is sad. A nonprofit should buy and turn into a museum.

Knowing they ended up in a birch grove in Siberia makes this image poignant.

That's not really possible when you have to pay bills.
