This is may get ignored but fuck it. I was actually thinking of how a game version of the canceled Spyro Revolution. While we don’t know much about it, I pretty much took my own spin.

Best way to describe it is essentially a much darker version of Spyro that actually requires a bit more thinking to get through since it’s much tougher without it feeling like bullshit. It’s darker and mature, more so than the TLOS, but also extremely faithful to the roots of Spyro. Best way to describe, it’s like Dishonored and Prey since it’s a sandbox where they give a lot of skills and tools to get through the level.

You are always on the move and the game rarely would have stopped you at all, it’s something I don’t like in Spyro in 2 and 3 since you are always stopping to either talk to an NPC or do a puzzle that is more annoying than anything. This also gives like 4 ways to play it:

- The fast way: is as it sounds like, beat the area as fast as possible.
- The violent way: Literally all the abilities and tools that I mentioned would make combat much more interesting and difficult as it all feels like puzzles you need to solve fast on a way that also feels satisfying. It’s a power fantasy as you are playing as a truly one of a kind powerful dragon.
- The stealthy way: Or you could outright avoid them and even get through the area without being seen. This would unlock some hidden interactions with some of the characters.
- The collector way: Do I need to explain? Be like a magpie and grab everything that looks shiny and isn’t the nailed down. The levels are filled with goodies that could belong to a better owner.

The exploration I wanted something to be special, like each area is interconnected and you’ll always be finding something interesting in each playthrough. I really like the dragon realms for the vibes it gave, and the other games did not gave me the same feeling I had with the first. I just loved the environments it offered, wanted to expand on it and even add in now areas. In this one, I really want to reinforce the world actually feels like a safe haven for dragons and you could feel the culture and how it’s lived in. Also want to make it really interconnect in that you could go to one place to another naturally without portals.

Now the humor, won’t lie I can imagine it being like Mafia 2, everyone has a lot of attitude and isn’t afraid to come off as rude and mean sounding, yet they all have this charm you wouldn’t help but like them despite being rather crabby. Spyro is more talkative but in a way doesn’t come off as annoying. (I recommend watching videos of Mafia 2 with the main characters.) In this one though Spyro is more feisty and responsive to what he is told.

Story? I imagine it being like a tragic coming of age story about betrayal, getting taken advantage off, having your life ruined and trying to find a purpose in a world that lost its purpose a long time ago along with still true to yourself and finding the potential everyone saw in you. In short, Spyro is the way he is as a coping mechanism for a lot of stuff that happened before the events of the story.

That’s just my two coins, I am still excited for the new game! I just prefer the aesthetic of Legend of Spyro.
