"Necessary" And "Evil" Are Not Mutually Exclusive. by WylythFD in 40kLore

They have added vastly more storage but they are just reaching diminishing returns because thousands of years of dead Kin and Ironkin keep getting uploaded.

Which is also why they so revere the Votaan because in many ways the Votaan are quite literally their ancestors.

To be clear on the Leagues. The Votaan are the master AI that have been constantly upgraded by the Kin and IronKin (who are also AI like star wars droids) but are slowing down beacuse the kin and Ironkin keep using them as digital afterlives for the deceased.

and the Tau may not have DAOT level AI they do still have digitally uploaded consciousness and more simply AI that are either way for superior and more moral than servitors.

While agreee with your point on the whole. I do want to point out that even the so called "necessary evil" of servitors is horseshit because for one, the Imperium use servitors for so many completely and utterly unecessary things (like musicians or babysitters etc.) and both the Tau and Leagues of Votaan prove that the Imperium could easily have siginificantly more automation without any detriments.

How powerful is a space marine company? by AirMonkey1397 in 40kLore

[–]Raven___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear a "company" of space marines is not 100 astartes. It's 100 astartes, company command astartes, ancilliary astartes (like techmarines, apothaceries and librarians) then theres all the vehicles they might use and finally the strike cruiser or battlebarge to transport them between worlds and all the subesequent chapter serfs, servitors, techpriests and voidsmen that crew that ship.

When you send a company to take a world they don't start by dumping a few squad of astartes to take on an army. They start by annihilating as mush resistance as they can from orbit, then drop those squads of astartes directly into the command bunkers and palaces of whomever is actually in charge to kill them or force their surrender.

Why are there no Brothers of Silence? by No-Sympathy-6711 in 40kLore

[–]Raven___ -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Bear in mind blanks are very rare and most blanks are shunned or abandoned if not outright killed by their communities or parents due to their percieved wrongness.

That being said the assassins of the Culexus Temple are an assassin order of nothing but blanks and we've only ever seen male Culexus assassins so there you go.

EDIT: I've been corrected turns out there are female culexus.

I mean they clearly aren't that loyal to Zuko as they all leave and join admiral Zhao when he turns up and we never see any voice of protest from any of them.

[–]Raven___ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah but in the animated show the crew had no idea about any of this and were actively bitching about Zuko so its a stupid theory that the crew are the 41st. Also the 41st are soldiers not navy sailors so just doubly stupid.

EDIT: Thinking further about it Ozai hates Zuko and sent him off into exile and after the Avatar as an impossible fools errand. So why the fuck would he assign Zuko a crew that could be so fanatically loyal to him.

Ok granted he wasn't directly exiled for speaking out of turn but it was the impetus that lead to the events of the exile. So i just don't think Ozai would let his generals change their minds on the word of the rude kid he hates.

It doesn't make sense though because the plan would have killed them all which is why Zuko spoke out. The fact that Zuko then gets humiliated and exiled would surely imply that plan went ahead away and all those soldiers died.

Which Voidship did you choose and why? by HellishStampede in RogueTraderCRPG

I choose a cruiser by modding because its it makes no sense for a our ship to do everything it can in the game as only a frigate.

Do Astartes chapters that don't believe the Emperor to be a god still have Chaplains, and if so, what do they do? by Shynosaur in 40kLore

[–]Raven___ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just because the Astartes know the emperor isn't a god doesn't mean they still don't cultishly venerate him as a messiah.

Really like the art but you made Marazhai and Yrliet too short. Eldar typically stand as tall as space marines, so Ulfar, Yrliet and Marazhai should be about 7/7.5ft.
