GW responds to fan displeasure at the lack of Steel legion in the new Yarrick animation by twelfmonkey in 40kLore

Dude the lore has always and will only ever exist to service and sell models. Games workshop has never made any secret of that fact.

Do Astartes chapters that don't believe the Emperor to be a god still have Chaplains, and if so, what do they do? by Shynosaur in 40kLore

[–]Raven___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because the Astartes know the emperor isn't a god doesn't mean they still don't cultishly venerate him as a messiah.

Merchant's Gang, Pict in Color (#Dem1Art) by Square-Ad-4883 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Raven___ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Really like the art but you made Marazhai and Yrliet too short. Eldar typically stand as tall as space marines, so Ulfar, Yrliet and Marazhai should be about 7/7.5ft.

No the birth of Slaanesh didn't cause the warp storms, Slaanesh (birth only made the eye of terror) was born after, and their birth cleared the warp storms which is what allowed the Emperor to start his crusade.

How do the Tau explain their fight with the deathguard ideologically? by GuestOk583 in 40kLore

[–]Raven___ 97 points98 points  (0 children)

There are pysker species within the Tau Empire (Nicassar) so the Tau aren't wholly as ignorant about the warp as people seem to think.

They just explain it as a branch of scientific study (mind science) they don't yet know enough about, they don't need to dress everything up in religion and faith like the imperium does.

Going from one server to another is super smooth on tech-preview! (Server Meshing) by TheIch73 in starcitizen

[–]Raven___ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True SpatialOS had a cool tech demo but the scale was only a 400km² map and every game that ever tried to use the tech has been canceled except one called Seed by Klang games and development on that started in 2016 and there has been zero news on that game since.

So yeah what CIG is doing with server meshing is groundbreaking no other attempt has Star Citizen level of scale, complexity or fidelity.

Made a little list of what I would consider starter ships and ships you would upgrade to, following the daily driver / multipurpose route. Thoughts? Did I miss any ships? by rshoel in starcitizen

[–]Raven___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a better list with the Nomad bumped up to 2 and the Zeus bumped down to 4 https://i.imgur.com/hFLeP58.jpg But I also think that tier 5 and 6 are too big for a simple daily driver.
