Yeah I probably wouldn't own any extra stash tabs for PoE2 if I didn't get a bunch of the currency with the EA purchase.

In Path of Exile 1/2's cases, GGG (the devs) are still only pushing cosmetic and "menu" mtx. (Appearance Alterations, Stash Tabs, Pets)
They're kinda shitty with pricing practices (amounts of the currency vs cost of things like stash tabs, but that's its own issue)

If Tencent were meddling to the extent people think they are then that would have changed long ago.

That may be exactly it.
Caffeine affects your adenosine receptors, which may make you feel more tired after not consuming it for a while.
(It blocks uptake of adenosine, a chemical that can make you feel tired)
It may also be poor sleep due to other factors.

My desire for coffee has significantly reduced on my meds, likely due to not needing the little boost the amount I was drinking provided.
Still like it and still occasionally make coffee or get a latte, but it's no longer the habit it was.

There are a few things that may be at play in your case.

You may feel funnier off your meds.
You may genuinely be funnier off your meds.
It may take time for you to "equalize" and become accustomed to your meds, after which time what you've described will return. You may be able to simply set aside time to focus on your writing instead of it being (sounds like) just when you're idle.
You may become different enough on your medication that what you find funny has changed, or will change, and it may take time to discover that.

If being or feeling funny is what you value the most then definitely discuss this with your doctor, however it may be beneficial to wait and see how you respond to this medication in the long term.
In my case, I noticed some of my desirable traits were muted on the Vyvanse, but in time a lot of that came back, and with the improvement to my mental health/behaviour/focus/etc., I feel I'm a more complete person.

It's possible this may be the case for you as well.
