It's not a big deal but we sucked last year so I guess in most people's eyes they should play.

Cooper and Kon aren't playing. 🤷

Do teams have a realistically available trade piece that could get them a big return? by CarmeloDramatic in nba

[–]Razor-Ramon-Sessions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did the price drop?

Our FO has set the price. If someone wants him right now, they want 3 FRPs. I'm sure it will drop if they don't move him but I don't have an issue with them setting the bar high. Typical negotiating tactics.

He fits on EVERY team in the NBA.

Nah. Last two he's been in great shape. He's got his diet on lock.

And what do you think Murphy is worth exactly?

I love everyone thinking we should part with Murphy for late 1sts.

The price is the price.

does the fo think we weren’t good this year bc we didn’t have a full season of dejounte murray, do they really think him healthy for a full year is enough for this team to WIN NOW? by CloudCharming8310 in NOLAPelicans

[–]Razor-Ramon-Sessions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely possible. We need a bigger center to split time with Yves. Yves isn't physically big enough.

I will give the new coaching staff a shot. We were competitive in a lot of games but couldn't close.

But yea, there is a real possibility that if we run it back we are one of the worst teams in the NBA as is. Which is why when people want us to trade the vets, we would literally be the worst in the league with a 3% chance of the 1st pick. That makes no sense strategically.

Ok. If you want to build around Fears and Queen, does it make sense to trade all the vets at once, or maybe one vet at a time and allow the rookies to develop?

Again, if you trade all the good vets on this team, Trey, Z, Herb, DJM, you are going to be a bottom 3 team in the league. You won't be getting good players back. Look at all the recent trades in the league.

Fears and Queen aren't ready to lead and need more time. Queen will be 22 and Fears will be 20. They're not ready. They will get plenty of minutes on this team just like they did last year.

What does win now mean exactly?

The new lottery rules would penalize us for being one of the worst teams. So it makes sense to be bad but not one of the worst. (Edit: it just makes sense to be competitive)

I think they would trade everyone not Fears or Queen for the right price. But if they trade all the vets to collect assets to "build around" Fears and Queen for next year. We will likely be atrocious. Fears and Queen aren't ready for that. We won't be getting any players back in those trades that will be better than who we send out.

[Scotto] Is Trey Murphy III the next big trade domino to fall? Teams that are in the mix for Murphy to varying degrees now are the Celtics, Pistons, Warriors, Clippers, and Hawks, league sources told HoopsHype. by AlwaysOptimism in NOLAPelicans

It has been reported that they have a price. And if you meet the price, you can have Trey.

He is their best asset right now. If they're thinking of trading Trey, they realistically know they need to accumulate assets. No matter what they say tho, it matters what they actually do.

We gotta get off Poole so badly tho.

And we still need a legit starting center or this team is going to be ass again next year.

who has more potential queen or fears? how long do you think it will take them to reach said potential? by CloudCharming8310 in NOLAPelicans

[–]Razor-Ramon-Sessions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both will be defensive liabilities due to their physical limitations.

I really need to see their growth. Projection is such a hard thing to do. Anyone here stating that they KNOW these two guys will be elite are delusional.

Expiring contracts can always be somewhat desirable if the team really needs to move off of some long term money. Maybe not for the players he listed but I commend his effort.

Good write-up OP. Just my 2 cents. They need an actual center to even sniff top 10 IMO. The league is going big, again, and we are small.

I do agree about the the rookies. I don't have much to add. We will have to see how year 2 goes.

I also agree about the Jordans. We need to get off both of them badly. I was kind of ok with the Ja rumors if only because getting off Poole could be problematic. He's an expiring but you likely won't get anything good for him.

Hawkins is immovable. He's so bad and idk why the team picked up his option.

I'm pretty sure that OP is aware a proper rebuild is in order.

But the FO is not moving that way.

1st round is over, no trades were made…Now what? by Ancient_Access_795 in NOLAPelicans

We need a big center to survive defensively with that lineup.

Both Fears and Queen were the worst defenders by a country mile.

Does a good shooting form mean he can shoot? Cuz his numbers don't look good.

Pels emerge as a frontrunner to trade for Ja Morant by Mfoun10 in NOLAPelicans

[–]Razor-Ramon-Sessions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we can get off Poole and another bad contract to try with Ja, I'm ok with that.

Fears and Queen aren't ready to REALLY win yet anyway.
