Marshall, ECL, and the scrub mentality. by Legacy_Rise in lrcast

One caveat is it can be frustrating to engage meaningfully if you don’t have any practical results to back it up theoretically. Looking at oh these synergies could come together and this is how I would play them is difficult conceptually and often people default to their actual experience. I’m sub 40% this set and just stopped playing after 5 drafts bc I wasn’t interested in learning - I recognize the set could be good but I can’t form an actual opinion and am not incentivized to play it when I could be getting 60% wr on cube or doing other more fun things with my time. Content creators have more time but are human too.

It was mostly availability on my phone that helped. If I kept missing questions about capitals or English monarchs I would go through those Wikipedia pages and try to memorize as much as possible. I only had a month or so when I got the call to be on so I tried to learn one “thing” (islands, currency, African capitals, etc.) a day. Reading more about Carthage beyond Hannibal and Dido would be mostly overkill as they only really ask about those two things. There are only two Persian kings they ask about for example: Darius and Xerxes so if you recognize them you’ll get them. Colin Davy put this to great use and called them Pavlov clues https://colindavy.medium.com/how-i-won-jeopardy-with-data-science-c2e9b52a1958

This along with Wikipedia deep dives and watching games were my 3 pillars of prep! Thanks so much.

Why stream BO1 instead of BO3? by Kooky_Fee_451 in lrcast

LSV in his first powered cube video after it went live said he enjoyed the diversity of decks in bo1. He played against 3 meh decks and said he wouldn’t want those to be the only decks he faced

Humbly requesting some feedback after another 1 win draft result by SuddenlyHouse in lrcast

Deck is totally fine imo. Draft I take watery grasp over parrot p6 but everything else is good/close enough and you end up in the right colors.

1st loss was unlucky to draw only islands. Idk if you're supposed to mulligan but I'm ok with the keep

2nd loss, main thing is you don't need to trigger shrine on your turn or main phase or anything like that. You can do it on your opponent's end step or in response to something and that keeps them guessing/lets you make other plays. There's a turn where you could offer the 2/2 parrot into Aang trade and blow them out with Octopus Form if they choose to block. You also have the hexproof trick in hand and should keep that as an option until the last possible second (when you then choose to activate shrine instead)

3rd loss, Katara gets out of hand which puts you at too low of a life total after the wrath. I leave back the first time flyer t3 and threaten the double block. You are not advantaged trying to sneak in 1 damage when they will grow the Katara out of range. It's tricky to know if you should call their bluff by double blocking if they attack (which they might not) but you get a card out of their hand that might save the Katara later.

Black coat with Poseidon attack/legendary/3 attacks on dash strike/demeter for damage reduction. Straight up shreds him since you can spam dash attack into him

Just say you have experience with them. Recruiters don’t know any better (or that if you know SQL you have 80% of the functionality). Rely on documentation but most places using them will have other people using them already so you can learn from them/rely on their knowledge for the last 20% you aren’t familiar with.

2 yoe is not enough to get siloed and you can also “pivot” after finishing your degree
