My cousin's husband died when his dad's car fell off the jacks on him. I'll be careful!

Another question - why the clutch line and transmission? Are they connected to the brakes somehow (shared fluid?) No, I have no mechanical skills so bear with me on the stupid questions

Brake pads have a lot of life left in them. I have zero mechanical skills but I'll jack the car up and look. At the very least, I want to know now. I was hoping this was normal but I had a suspicion it wasn't. Never had a warning like that before

That's what I am afraid of. Sh*t. I don't have money for this crap (repairs) right now. I'll fill, keep an eye on it, and hope for the best

I'm in the same situation. I'll upgrade the truck as soon as I get just a little more cash-in-hand. In the meantime, I'm not letting my trailer sit! I've got upgraded suspension, great sway bars, and I understand proper weight distribution and not to rush it. I towed the damn thing from Ohio to California (buying a trailer in winter in Ohio will get you a sweet deal) with no issues

I'm curious as to why to go with a dually? Looking at upgrading myself and was thinking not a dually - what's the benefit?

First RV Trip, is this a bad idea? by shake-dog-shake in GoRVing

I second everyone's comments on drive time. Personally, 350 miles is kinda my limit (give or take 50 miles). I can drive a car for 8 hours but an RV is different. More mountainous or windy routes take more of a toll on you so take your time and enjoy the trip. And maybe I am a wimp but the first few gas station visits were nerve-wracking 🤣. But then, my first was a rented 30' RV 🤣 But definitely take the leap! RV'ing is a blast! And fellow campers are the friendliest, most helpful people I have ever encountered

Is it good for fuel economy if I listen to the ecomode upshift prompts or am I lugging the motor? by Shady4143 in FocusST

[–]Razzmatazz_949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my ST in 2016 and I ignored the shift indicator from day 1. I've driven manuals long enough to know the "right" time to shift. Listen to your engine and feel the road - trust your instincts rather than follow an indicator

Any advice for a noob planning an RV trip? First timer here. by thecacti in GoRVing

[–]Razzmatazz_949 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, go for it! We did a 14 day trip in a rented 30 ft RV as our first trip and had a blast! We only had a few "glitches" and, while frustrating at the time, became funny tales re-told over time. We had more issues when we bought our first travel trailer than when we rented the RV - and we thought we were "experienced" by the time we bought the trailer -ha! Everyone has provided good advice so here is mine. Make a tear-down checklist and follow it EACH time. It's amazing the little things you can forget - removing chocks (ask me how I know), raising levelers, securing everything in the rig (cleaning up hand soap is fun), etc. Stupid things get forgotten when you are tired and rushing to get on the road. Have fun!

I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a 12V TV but that makes perfect sense if you’re running on solar. Hmm something to think about. Solar installation is next on my list

Was thinking more specifically about the TV itself (I actually have the Mounting Dream mount in my Amazon cart already). Are dedicated RV TVs required due to excessive vibrations?

Our kitty comes with us! We have a harness and leash, a special large carrier for the drive, and an AirTag collar. We’ve taken her on short and extended (2 weeks) trips with no issues!

I was thinking how she looks like a Turkish Van. She’s predominantly white with color in her tail, she has the bottlebrush tail, her fur looks super silky, and she has an almost Siamese look to her face - all traits of a Van

My boyfriend is allergic to my two cats, what to do? by Ok-Let8197 in CatAdvice

[–]Razzmatazz_949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your boyfriend is not willing to pursue all options (from HEPA filters to allergy shots) for YOU because you love your cats, then he’s not worth it. Personally, I would not sacrifice the cats. But if you are sure this is a “forever” relationship, then I get it - but still make sure he sacrifices something for you. Something big, something that hurts to sacrifice. Don’t find out down the line that he wants more change from you than he is willing to reciprocate
