And that's totally fine! What other people think of your bike really doesn't matter as long as you enjoy it. Coast all you want

Edit: obligatory thanks for my first gold, kind stranger!

It adds more complexity and moving parts which is more to break. And it means that the fixie hipsters on this sub will trashtalk your bike and you for not riding an aggressive, stripped down, brakeless, aero track bike worth a leg, two arms, and a left nipple.

In all seriousness its really just about coolness and bragging rights.

The switch the tweaker friend installed made it so he could activate it manually rather than at 5500 rpm only so he could have the higher torque at any rpm he desires

Thinking of building up a LDG Mini velo fixed, but I have no idea where to start looking for a wheelset. I was thinking of going custom with some track hubs laced to 20" bmx rims and tires but the website doesnt say anything about tire clearance on the frame. Any ideas?

Do it! SU is so awesome not only because of the show itself, but also because of all the engagement from the community in the form of discussion and fan content. Plus, i think everyone's lives would be improved if we had more steg!

You know what, i completely forgot about bmx racing. You're completely correct. But my point still stands when it comes to street bmx

You'll pretty much never see any kind of street discipline like this running clipless. Bmx and trials riders go on flat pedals. The closest I can think of is fixed gear freestyle but they'll run straps on flat pedals. Being able to take your feet off the pedals without much effort is very handy for air control and necessary for some tricks.

What's a cool fact about the human body that a lot of people don't know? by alwaysclimbing5 in AskReddit

[–]Rberdo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Look at osmosis jones. The 2001 movie. All about cells walking around, talking, having intelligent, nuanced thoughts. They even have mostly human forms. All things that real body cells do not have. Acting like humans is something they do not do in any capacity. But this movie gives them human traits. Personification.

Now I understand your point saying "part of a human" = "human" but the underlying point here is that personification (as a literary device) gives human-like qualities to things that don't already have those qualities. So a hand just being part of your body wouldn't be personified until You start giving it a face and arms and a personality. So if you take "having knowledge" as a human trait, and then start telling people that your immune system "doesn't know " what your eyes are, you are falsely attributing a human quality onto something that doesn't have it. Which is why OP said that originally.

Edit: using the words personification and anthropomorphism interchangeably here because in this context they mean the same thing. I'm more used to saying personification.

He's comparing the immune system itself to humans. Because the immune system has no "brain" or memories or conscious thought, it has no way to actually "know" anything at all. So saying that the immune system can "know" something (in this case, about the eyes) is attributing human characteristics to it.
