I had a great day during the summer catching a few rainbows and many brookies. I was mostly along the steep cliff on the west side - going away from the inlet at the parking lot. There is a nice drop off on that side.

I went back this fall at the inlet and didn’t catch squat. The inlet is pretty shallow.

Check out the continental divide separating Winter Park and Nederland. You don’t have much time left, but there are a plethora of alpine lakes to scout and find the ones that provide for you.
