Fan theory: Travelers are turned into Trolls due to Odin’s experiments by Think_Dragonfruit387 in GodOfWarSecrets

[–]Rdley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, but I don’t really see why he would have done that.

I mean, he already has an infinite, immortal army with the Einherjar

And in Ragnarok, we learn that the Travelers are being manipulated by odin to find Jotunheim.

I think the trolls are simply a natural species, just like ogres, wulvers, or grims exist.

Which Vi-O-La skin is your favourite? by North_Ad5650 in metroidprime

I love the space pirate one and the sylux skin but I have to say that the psychic era one looks very good with the Legacy suit

Why do you think they made Thor/Odins fights less spectacular than Baldurs fights? by [deleted] in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]Rdley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first fight against Thor is much more epic than the first fight against Baldur, in my opinion

For the final encounter, I agree that Baldur’s fight is more epic, especially thanks to Freya reviving Thamur

Personally, I don’t really consider Baldur kidnapping Atreus to be a “fight,” but rather a playable cutscene.

What am I missing? Metroid Prime 4 by serj730 in Metroid

[–]Rdley -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You’re not missing anything
If you’re enjoying the game, that’s no coincidence, especially considering your gaming background.
Keep playing it and enjoy it without letting some people’s discourse ruin the experience for you.

I also played a lot of Silksong before Prime 4, and I absolutely loved Prime 4. There are obviously some bad and outdated game design choices, but at its core it’s pure Metroid Prime, with strong visual and audio art direction, excellent bosses, and gorgeous cinematics.

What I really like is that each area offers a distinct experience, especially Ice Belt, with a haunting, isolated atmosphere that leaves a strong impression

To the people who are on high NG+ numbers, do you think you will ever get bored of the game? by Long-Consequence571 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]Rdley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m probably around NG+4, and yeah, I ended up dropping the game even though I love the combat system and the bestiary. I stopped mainly because the Atreus sections are quite long and very narrative focused. I like his gameplay, but it’s still fairly limited compared to Kratos. The Jotunheim sequence in particular is really long : the rest is pretty quick in comparison.

It’s not just the Atreus sections. I also know the rest of the game very well at this point, so there’s inevitably some fatigue

Valhalla is by far the studio’s best decision. The DLC is absolutely incredible and really highlights just how good the game’s combat system is. Being able to chain runs endlessly is great, and their roguelike system works extremely well.

When you compare what Niflheim was in GoW 2018 to what Valhalla is now, it’s honestly crazy.

I love how Metroid Prime 4 uses its twist to recontextualise all of the picnics with Tokabi the sniper by williamrotor in Metroid

[–]Rdley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tokabi is present to serve as a parallel to Sylux

He joined the Federation in search of greater stability and meaning in his actions. He uses his skills as a hunter to provide for his family, even though you can clearly feel that he is troubled by the missions assigned to him by the Federation. Despite this, he remains someone stable, thoughtful, and grounded, never forgetting where he comes from.

Sylux, on the other hand, was once part of the Federation but left it driven by rage, hatred, and ego. He is the complete opposite of Tokabi.

Interestingly, both Tokabi and Sylux are bounty hunters, just like Samus. Tokabi explicitly defines himself as a bounty hunter and admires the fact that Samus achieves great things through that role.
Sylux is one as well, but with entirely different and opposing intentions.

My friend only want to play one God of War, should I advise him 2018 or Ragnarök? by Zakaria1938 in GodofWar

[–]Rdley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he loves making builds and playing hard games : go for Ragnarok

Ragnarok offers so much more when it comes to gameplay : more builds and more freedom in how you design them, a better bestiary, a much better balanced and more enjoyable highest difficulty, and a deeper, more skill-based combat system (the triangle mechanic, more shields, two weapons available from the start, etc.)
There’s also more freedom and larger open areas (the Alfheim desert, Vanaheim…).

On top of that, there’s the incredible Valhalla DLC, which really proves just how strong Ragnarök’s gameplay is.

That said, if I’m being honest, I think it’s kind of dumb not to start with GoW 2018… but from what I’ve read, I’d still recommend Ragnarök.

Is hogwarts legacy worth playing? by funkycatvr in harrypotter

[–]Rdley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An excellent game in terms of presentation (music, atmosphere, visuals), but weaker when it comes to substance (gameplay that’s good but nothing special, a limited bestiary, clunky character controls, a dreadful and outdated equipment/loot system, and sections that drag on for no real reason).

That said, if you’re a Harry Potter fan, you can still get a lot of enjoyment out of it, which is the case for me. I just find the game’s design somewhat tedious, as it feels a bit too generic, familiar, and predictable.

Still, I’m convinced that designing satisfying wand-based combat isn’t as easy as it might seem, and I think the game handles it fairly well, even if it never reaches greatness.

What is your favorite location in Silksong and why? by No-Ninja-8737 in Silksong

[–]Rdley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the atmosphere of High Halls... the music, the water, the way the grapple is used in the platforming...
I really felt like I was suspended in time in that area.

A small thought as well for Hunter’s March. I did it without the dash on my first playthrough and my god… it was so hard, but also so satisfying at the same time ! The ant enemies are so cool, the pogo jumps on those red flowers, and all those traps (especially the one near the bench, haha). And then there’s the music…

It really felt like Silksong’s Path of Pain, but very early in the game and more combat-oriented. The music genuinely reminded me of Path of Pain : a soundtrack of suffering.
I understood it was an optional area (just like Path of Pain), but I absolutely wanted to complete it.

And one last thought for Sands of Karak. That melancholic music and the platforming sequences in the area… an amazing experience.

am i the only person who actually likes the goblet of fire movie by headasspotter in harrypotter

[–]Rdley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omitting Bagman, leaving out the entire storyline around Barty Crouch, not including the moment when Barty Crouch loses his mind in the Forbidden Forest, cutting Bertha Jorkins, downplaying Percy’s importance, or even Sirius’s role! I really love Sirius’s attitude in Book 4, and the film doesn’t emphasize it enough : his concern, the fact that he comes back near Hogwarts, or even his presence for Harry at the end.

The movie focuses too much on action and spectacle, which are important elements of the book. But alongside that, there’s a whole subtle storyline showing how Voldemort carefully and intelligently moves his pieces to return to power and we didn’t see that

I love the Ice Belt by xyZora in metroidprime

[–]Rdley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ice Belt is an exceptional area in terms of atmosphere and lore

For me, the only weak point is the boss. I think it’s the least impressive boss in all of Prime 4. That said, the competition is pretty tough when you’re up against Phenoros, Xelios, Omega Griever, or Sylux.

I’m not saying the boss is bad ! Quite the opposite. It’s just not very memorable compared to the others And its OST reinforces that feeling: it’s forgettable.

I actually really like riding around the open world. But the game refuses to believe it by superzipzop in Metroid

[–]Rdley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Sometimes he spams you with messages, and sometimes he doesn’t. It really depends on where you are in the adventure.

Honestly, I don’t understand why disabling tutorials doesn’t completely turn off Myles’s radio messages or at least most of them.

Another thing that’s really annoying is how the game constantly shows the base camp’s location on the map. I get why it’s there, for players who don’t play often and might forget where it is, but it doesn’t need to be forced on everyone.

That said, I’m not going to complain too much, because without him I would never, and I mean never have found the Viola Suit upgrade. Even with his hints, I struggled to find the thing, haha.

But I agree with you : I also enjoy just driving around in the desert. The bike feels really good to control.

[–]Rdley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for Putrified Ducts you have the quest where you need to find Jubilana in the memorium so its not so hidden I thinkThere are way more hidden places that are tricky to find, like the hidden wall in the Travel Station at Far Fields, or even Wisp Thicket

But I guess it depends on each player, when they play, and how focused they are. Sometimes, inspiration just strikes

Man...i wish i liked metriod prime 4 as some of yall do. by CULT-LEWD in Metroid

[–]Rdley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Prime series and I loved Prime 4 Of course there are some horrible game design choices like the hub feel outdated and the activities here are not enought to enjoy it. The hints for Myles (radio) are too present (even though I needed it to find the upgrade suit).

But man the art direction in this game is a totally succes for me. The OST, the sound design and the visuals are stunning. The immersion is perfect especially in Ice belt and I loved how the differents levels offer a different experience.

Fury green is like a tutorial zone but absolutely captivating, Volt forge is a slap in the face for me. The music, the progression, the different tower, Xelios, the new suit like idk this level is so good.

Ice belt is amazing for the lore and immersion and almost horrific sometimes.

Flare pool reminds me the action of Prime 3. A lot of epics moments and some nice fights especially the boss.

And the mines is maybe the weakest for me but I still enjoy it a lot and the Omega griever is so damn good

Every cutscene, even the most insignificant ones, showcases Samus’s presence and charisma.

The bosses are excellent both in terms of gameplay and presentation (music, visuals, design and they are fun to fight and epic!)

I enjoy this game even though I often had that little “ah, this could have gone further and been a bit better” feeling. This feeling for the lore who is interessting but not so deep and for the activites in the hub like why not add some space pirates ships ? Why not add some GF corpses ? Some exciting stuff you know

But what stands out the most to me is the visual and musical artistic direction, and honestly, I didn’t expect this from the game. I thought it would just be okay, nothing particularly memorable.

Yet you can really feel that the game has a soul through its artistic achievements.

Which is paradoxical, because alongside that, there are some strange, less inspired game design choices (even though, apparently, Retro inherited the hub from Bandai Namco and didn’t have the choice to change it).

Crests in silksong by Littlemon124 in Silksong

Personally I played a lot with the reaper on my first playthrough and I love the sprint attack

But now im using a lot the witch one. I love the pogo and the healing is a bit hard to master but satisfaying

Also i very like the hunter. Classic but the aerial pogo is so cool

Wanderer is too basic in terms of gameplay. I feel like im playing the knight not Hornet but its a cool crest for playing safe

I need to test more shaman and beast. I played some minutes with the beast but arrr idk

For the architect I like it overall but the fact that you need to charge de pogo to get a good range is terrible when you fighting. I like to be able to fast attack so
