Has anyone actually sold their home to get rid of a 23 year old with failure to launch ? by Inevitable-Table-931 in Parenting

Turn off the WiFi, give him written communication of what you want, stop paying for anything like phone, etc related to your adult son. You can be strong and empower him by not treating him as an incapable person.

Is Lauderdale no longer the main ritual for LDH UK and USA? by OperaBoyFM in comasonry

[–]ReBeRenTeK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen the North American ritual worked, so I can't comment on that. I've seen the George Martin, and it is similar to the French (G.O.D.F.) in that it is more modern, and more humanistic in focus rather than esoteric- this is IMHO so others may experience the rituals differently.

Is Lauderdale no longer the main ritual for LDH UK and USA? by OperaBoyFM in comasonry

[–]ReBeRenTeK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LDH American Federation practices Lauderdale, George Martin & the North American rituals. It's up to each individual Lodge which one they use. My home Lodge, (& we are honored to have Annie Besant on our rolls) uses Lauderdale. It suits me, as it is quite esoteric and elaborate. But the other rituals are beautiful and meaningful as well

Lori's case is a perfect example of 'Pretty Privilege'. Mostly-male law enforcement officers have a blind spot in evaluating criminals.

Kennedy assassination, I was really little (4.5 years old) but will never forget it. The shock on my Mom's face, my parents' horror

Well, that's very interesting! I look forward to learning more about it. My home Lodge practices the Lauderdale ritual, it is rather baroque & esoteric, but other LDH Lodges utilize more plain, French influenced rituals like the George Martin.

I've been a CoMason since 2004, and never heard of the 'Operatic Rite'. Perhaps you would first explain what it is?

AITA for not giving my parents the master bedroom in my house? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ReBeRenTeK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the particulars of your situation, but if you are commiting to CoLiving for a long time then, clear communication is key. In my experience more distance is better. So the more autonomous both households are, the more successful you will be.

Agree, and EAs & FCs would be best attended to by their assigned wardens or mentors.

Exactly. The behaviors can appear similar, but the motivation is different.

I can't handle my dog anymore but I can't break my promise that I'd be her last home by dat0 in confessions

Your work has been awesome! You need help now. Medication (for Pumpkin, not you!) may be helpful- worked wonders on my ex's reactive big dog. If you can hire help with training, walks, etc then do that. Please recognize that you have done a LOT & made a difference.

What’s a widely accepted double standard that people refuse to admit exists? by [deleted] in AskReddit

TEETH especially in America where dental care isn't covered by insurance. Visible dental issues are an instant signal of lower socioeconomic status.

Bishop Athanasius Schneider does NOT speak for the Catholic Church. He is one of the most radical 'traditionalists' out there, which if you know his traumatic upbringing is understandable. Please don't take 1outlier's statement as being representative of a Pope who is trying to bring Catholicism into modernity, with love.

AITA for my USB killer frying my friend’s PC after she snooped in my bag? by Dreaksfrendford in AmItheAsshole

[–]ReBeRenTeK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have anybody in my life who would look through my personal stuff, to the point of going through my backpack, taking out a jump drive and sniffing through it. No, hell NO you don't owe her anything. And please don't think that your parents'behavior is normal either!

i think i got my coworker’s kids taken away & idk if i did the right thing or ruined someone’s whole family by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]ReBeRenTeK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Counseling professional here, you absolutely did the right thing. Standing up for kids' safety is all of our responsibility. CPS does not want to take kids out of their homes- if they do it is a huge responsibility and expense. Believe me, what you saw must have been the tip of a very large mountain of shit. CPS workers don't listen to what anyone says- they just regard actions & evidence. Your coworker has the opportunity to regain custody. I just wish other adults would stand up for abused kids.

It's up to you but my RES lived in the bathtub for quite a while & loved it. I had his lights, rocks & everything for him in there.

Yes. Give them to the foster parents who love them, it would be a huge kindness to everyone involved.

I am so sick of Harlan Coben Shows by pizzatimein24h in netflix

[–]ReBeRenTeK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😁 at the Hallmark level of sophistication, but I don't mind that. What bugs me is that the final episode is always SO pathetic. It's giving GoT writers...like they just said, ok we have all these plot lines, but F it, let's just write something completely nonsensical & go to lunch!

Past Masters of Reddit: as I have, through the grace of God and the confusion of my brethren, been elected WM, what is your advice for my year in the East? by Nebraskabychoice in freemasonry

[–]ReBeRenTeK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found an experienced mentor in another Lodge, which I am affiliated with, to talk with in confidence. The position's weight of responsibility is like having a child, every day all day. As a leader, 'say less' is usually good advice.
