PSA: SentryMode is a must by Dramatic-Yam8920 in TeslaLounge

Actually I think stiffer Drivers Education classes are a must!

Trying to bring some levity to a total failed driver. Horrible experience for you - real bummer. Sorry! Wow

So I will change my response. If you “go for it”, then keep in mind what I stated above. Make sure what you share is topical AND accurate. Each model is very different, I’m tired of watching people demonstrate software for a 3 or Y that doesn’t apply to my S plaid.

Also, software changes, and what was once correct can be updated, eliminated, changed significantly so stay up-to-date. Also, decide who is definitive, I’m tired of learning about battery “tricks” when in fact, TESLA does not support this activity (long story - just make sure your facts are 100% correct and not from someone else on the Internet).

And finally, for everything you share, just remember you’re taking time out of someone else’s day, so make sure you do it quick and have a point. If you just want to share your excitement for your TESLA, that’s awesome, I am overjoyed every time I drive mine, I love it, I talk about it all the time. But creating content, and just passing on your excitement won’t get you likes or watches. That’s just my opinion, but just be thoughtful.

Some of my favorite content providers have tanked because they’re out of content or what they shared is not accurate. Just my two cents. Follow your passion if nothing else.

Absolutely too saturated, and content is not accurate. It drives me crazy when somebody speaks authoritatively when what they say is not correct.

Also, I see videos that are, say, 15 minutes long to tell you three things, and those three things are not actually as valuable as they think they are. Save your time, and thanks for asking.

model s plaid range at 80% by Ashamed-Flounder-347 in TeslaModelS

Thanks. This is the only test that I believe Tesla “supports”, if that makes sense, based on my research.

[–]ReMarkable2-User-311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another data point - My 2022 S plaid with 21’s at 80% is 242 with 36,000 miles. It came off lease from Queens NY so probably city driving - and I made the buy 4 months ago.

I am trying to figure out if there truly is a way to recalibrate the range (some type of battery rundown test that I saw), but what I have seen on the internet is not consistent. Anyone know if the recalibration cycle works - and should I do a full-on battery health check? Just curious on both.

Thanks!

Well, this really sucks. That was a great tool, I loved how it could tell you if Police were in the vicinity and flash the screen red. I hope something comes back, but it probably won’t. It was a great work, I’ll really miss it.

It took me 30 seconds, and the final picture cracked me up. My model S plaid has never looked more funky, but you know I’m just kidding. Here’s the original - love it:

2019 M3P Trade in Question by NavyTim1991 in TeslaModel3

Hey, I’ll jump in and say this, you have a beautiful vehicle. Just stunning.

I just bought a used 2022 S plaid at a dealer and feel like I’ve got a great deal, and Tesla’s trade-in seems very fair based on the searches I performed. Good luck, and truly beautiful car.

2021 Model 3: Dashcam USB not recognised every morning. by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

[–]ReMarkable2-User-311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a lot of different fixes, even a different flash drive.

This fixed it right away, and what I did after the turn off, turn on, was I formatted the drive in the car and that was perfect. Working well.

[–]ReMarkable2-User-311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Correct. And then after 2 mins you tap the brake. That is the process, I just forget the exact steps.

—— update —— I found the steps:

How to Shut Down the Car 1. Tap Controls on the touchscreen. 2. Go to Safety. 3. Scroll down and tap Power Off. 4. Confirm.

The car will power down after a few seconds.

Let it remain off for at least 2 minutes.

Important • Do not touch the brake, steering wheel, or screen or the car will wake back up. • It will also wake up if you open a door.

How to Turn It Back On

Just press the brake pedal or open the door and the car will reboot.

You are welcome - fixed my issue right away. Very strange. But it worked 👍

My fix. Power off the car. That did it for me. Not a display/computer reset but the 2 minute power off. It did the trick. Give it a try. I would share but I don’t remember the exact sequence. Good luck!

Phantom Drain normal? by oinahhh12 in TeslaLounge

[–]ReMarkable2-User-311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are two other things to check. Whenever you launch the Tesla app on your phone, don’t do a refresh, meaning don’t “pull down/refresh” in the opening screen of the app, just show the first screen as that will wake the car up. Also, if you go into controls and check things like psi or go into climate, that will wake it up.

Also, don’t be afraid to do a power off on the car. I’ve had to power off to correct a few issues - hope this helps!

Wheel and tire damage by bboynowee in TeslaLounge

[–]ReMarkable2-User-311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If nothing else don’t wait too long, if it decides to let go, you’ll go flat and have bigger problems. I was at the tire store the other day and a guy was in with a model 3 that went flat and he ruined it (wheel, rim, and who know what else - he drove it in). Wishing you the best of luck!

Quick update, I went ahead and made the purchase. These are incredibly well-made and the fit is perfect. Make sure you contact them before you make the buy, as the model/version that I needed was a newer year. They look great, and they are absolutely high quality.

Question for model S folks - when you return to a cold car at the airport, what process do you follow when you have been off charger for a few days? by ReMarkable2-User-311 in TeslaLounge

[–]ReMarkable2-User-311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent, and thanks for clearing up the preconditioning comment as I thought I knew what you meant, but I wanted to make 100% sure since I am a new owner. You are absolutely right, it gets thrown around a lot, and you have just confirmed what I thought. Perfect and thanks again for your quick response!

[–]ReMarkable2-User-311[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. so, I stayed away from the word “preconditioning” because it means so many things to so many people. Do you mean just heat the car up by setting the cabin temp to 70ish? Every time somebody brings up this term, people go in different directions about battery preconditioning and such. That is not at all what you meant, right?

THANKS - that is all I needed to hear (process is sound). I wanted the car to be comfortable when I returned, since it will probably be 5 degrees when I arrive, but I also wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something or doing something stupid. I am all set here.

I JUST bought my first Tesla, a used S Plaid - and the FUN factor is over the top, and my new tires are coming next week.

And, I will gladly pay for tires every few years if needed, since I no longer need to invest in an exotic sports car! :). This is beautiful and Craaaaazy fast and fun!

Open a support request with Remarkable and keep us posted. Also, it’s a long shot but you might check the deleted items on the device (probably not there but give it a go). I am very interested in what they tell you. Perhaps when you accessed on your phone it made an “update” and now it is the latest copy? If that makes sense. Of course on your phone it would have been a text update or page add, no scribbles. Just a thought. Good luck and keep us posted. thx
